  1. Hotel 3 Preview 57 113 50.44% Sicario 2 24 1044 2.30% Uncle Drew 154 1344 11.46% I didn't get the Jumanji or Love, Simon advance previews, so it's hard to judge Hotel Transylvania, but filling up half the auditorium seems pretty good, especially since there's still two days left for more seats to be filled. Sicario 2 Comps: 66% of The Foreigner ($8.7M) 30% of The Commuter ($4.1M) 77% of 12 Strong ($12.2M) 50% of The 15:17 to Paris ($6.3M) 80% of Annihilation ($8.9M) 41% of Death Wish ($5.3M) 21% of Tomb Raider ($5.1M) 28% of Pacific Rim 2 ($7.8M) 19% of Rampage ($7M) Hmmm....with this movie doing well on MT and Pulse, as well as being walk-up driven, it's possible my theater is just an outlier, but it does seem like low-teens or below is possible. Uncle Drew Comps: 77% of Jumanji ($27.8M) 92% of Pitch Perfect 3 ($18.4M) 43% of Proud Mary ($4.3M) 99% of Den of Thieves ($15.7M) 32% of Acrimony ($5.6M) 118% of Super Troopers 2 ($18M) 152% of Traffik ($6M) 36% of Breaking In ($6.3M) 148% of Superfly ($10.2M) Again, another hard one to track, especially since black-led movies consistently overperform at my theater. I feel like somewhere around Superfly seems like the safest bet looking at tracking and Pulse sales, but of course, this is also a walk-up based movie, so it's a real wild card.
  2. https://deadline.com/2018/06/jumanji-angry-birds-sequels-release-dates-sony-1202418474/ Moved to September 6 against It 2. Coming for that Wild Life money.
  3. I'm pretty sure it's been scientifically proven that if you hear laughter, you're more prone to laugh along with everyone else. That's why so many sitcoms utilize a laugh track.

  5. This is gonna wreck me when it comes out. Give Carell and Bae their Oscars already.
  6. Including re-releases, Lion King reaches $422M
  7. Looks like Numbers' reflexes were...lightning fast (geddit? electroshock therapy)
  8. Just steals from this lmao http://akvalley.pythonanywhere.com/static/Fandango_track.txt
  9. Apparently this whole "David Lynch supports Trump" thing was originally clickbait and out of context from an Indiewire interview.
  10. Oh yeah, I've got a big-ass backlog of 2018 shiz I need to see...maybe I'll get to it?
  11. Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom 7:15 PM, 60% full Trailers Smallfoot "Stars of Hope" Ad Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (laughs) Creed II (pretty significant chatter) Ant-Man and the Wasp (chuckles) Mission: Impossible - Fallout (mild whispers) Bohemian Rhapsody (no reactions) Mortal Engines (no reactions) The Grinch (a kid laughed at one part, an adult laughed at the ending gag, but very little reaction) At the beginning of the previews, I was sitting closer to the back, but I was in front of and to the left of two different groups of teenagers who would not shut up once during the previews. I moved down to a shitty seat freezing my ass off from the A/C, because teenagers ruin everything. There were scattered laughs here and there, but no major gag that brought the house down. Two or three clapped when the credits rolled, but it seemed pretty muted.
  12. Well, I just got it at FK, and after the trailer, mild whispers were uttered...it's the only time I've seen this get a reaction (Solo and Ocean's didn't get them, although my Mom did wince at Cruise Missle getting hurt when we saw the latter), but at least it got a better reaction than Mortal Engines.
