  1. Following the Paranormal Activity franchise to a tee. The sixth movie's gonna be on digital a couple weeks after it's in theaters.
  2. It is a sequel to the Jolie movie, only without Jolie or the guy from the first movie, is produced by Universal's direct-to-video department, and is being distributed by Pure Flix...I don't get it either.
  3. Don't know why I have to explain this, but saying someone should be hanged for casting an actress in a children's movie is a bit of an exaggeration.
  4. Ant-Man 665 3415 19.47% Comps: 72% of Thor: Ragnarok ($89.4M) 47% of Justice League ($44.4M) 186% of Coco ($94.6M) 16% of Infinity War ($41.9M) 39% of Deadpool 2 ($49.5M) 62% of Solo ($52M) 26% of Incredibles 2 ($47.5M) 49% of Jurassic World ($72.2M) Leaning towards Thor: Ragnarok as the best comparison here, both being Marvel movies, and partially because Ant-Man seems like it will get a lot of walk-ups thanks to family audiences which can help drive it towards that number. But as always, I feel as if a number between Jurassic World and Thor seems like the safest bet.
  5. Wild prediction, and I could be wrong on this: I think the $800K might be for Deadpool. For a comparison Avengers jumped 34% from the 4th to the 3rd back in 2012.
  6. For Comparison: Election Year: $3.64M Anarchy: $2.6M The Purge: $3.4M Those were all Thursday, so it's not a totally fair comparison.
  7. I know that we're all hyping up Set It Up, but if y'all want another good Netflix movie original, there's a Scottish movie called Calibre that is hella good. Not gonna say much, since it's best knowing as little as possible about it, but it's really great stuff.
  8. https://deadline.com/2018/07/sopranos-prequel-director-alan-taylor-many-saints-of-newark-1202421437/ Directed by ALAN TAYLOR @Chewy
  9. Of course, right after Pride month this shit happens.
  10. I am indifferent towards Teller. I am indifferent towards this casting. I am indifferent towards this movie. I am indifferent.
  11. Also, from Deadline: https://deadline.com/2018/07/ant-man-and-the-wasp-the-first-purge-july-4th-box-office-1202421069/
  12. The First Purge (3-Day) 5 1065 0.47% The First Purge (5-Day) 160 2042 7.84% Ant-Man 397 3415 11.63% Ant-Man comps: 43% of Thor: Ragnarok ($53.4M) 28% of Justice League ($26.5M) 111% of Coco ($56.5M) 10% of The Last Jedi ($21.6M) 198% of Jumanji ($71.8M) 8% of Black Panther ($16.2M) 184% of Ready Player One ($76.8M) 10% of Infinity War ($25M) 23% of Deadpool 2 ($29.6M) 37% of Solo ($31M) 15% of Incredibles 2 ($28.4M) 29% of Jurassic World ($43.1M) I mean...yeah, it's still on track for Doctor Strange numbers. Me personally, I hope it goes below $84,420,489 for...petty fanboy reasons (Just kidding Marvelites, I'm rooting for this movie, don't try and argue with me for 3 pages straight) Purge comps: I don't have time to do them before my shift today, but looking at a couple of them, using stuff like Happy Death Day and Insidious and other horror movies, they all point to absurdly high $40-60M 5-Days, while Breaking In and Superfly point to low sub-$20M results.
