By the way, there were a lot of families at my Guardians showing yesterday. Much more so than any of the other Marvel Cinematic Universe movies on their opening weekends. Strange.

I still feel that we need to owe Guardians' really massive opening to ROCKET RACCOON!!! That is so much fun to say. If your drama is tracking to open to dismal numbers, just add ROCKET RACCOON!!!! $50M+ opening guaranteed.

It still boggles the mind that this opened to $90M+ (even if it's a part of a much bigger cinematic universe) and has a legit shot at being the largest movie of the entire summer. That would make this the first time in history the biggest movie of the summer was an August release, right?

Legs should still be good, though.Lucy's drop is expected but it's still a huge success. Hercules got slaughtered, though. I really thought Guardians wouldn't impact it since the audience for it is primarily over the age of 40, but I guess not. If next week wasn't so packed it likely would've opened then (since The Hundred-Foot Journey doesn't look to make much of an dent at all).
