"we don't like what we don't understand and in fact it scares us and this monster is mysterious at least"
best line from best Disney song from best animation ever
while it's not a Rom-Com per se..but it follows the same concept (PG-13 rich people issues comedy)..The Other Woman did extremley well so the genre could be reawakened all over again..
unfortunately since Ted and Seth Rogen..and most notably The Hangover..the comedy trend is leaning for titty R rated comedies about a bunch of unrelatable perverted douchebags
all this 21/22 Jump Street/Neighbors/Let's be Cops stuff should just die
it looks 2 times better than the 95 mil Percy Jackson for example..with almost one third of the budget
yet some blockbusters cost up to 250 mil
there is absolutely no justification for a movie to have a budget bigger than 150 mil $..the main problem is the unbelievably overpaid actors/directors/producers
did A Walk Among the Tombstones and This is Where I Leave you open in any foreign markets this weekend?
I'm curious about their overseas performance..since their domestic is boring and within the lowest range of expectations
Into The Storm
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $46,097,126 31.5% + Foreign: $100,400,000 68.5% = Worldwide: $146,497,126
it hit 100 mil overseas..yeah it totally flopped alright
34 million $ to be truthful
the answer is obvious..an under-paid young cast/director/crew and 25% in tax breaks from Louisiana where the movie was shot
the premise sounds too depressing and just plain sad..I don't care if that makes me sound like a wuss..but I can't stand it when animals are killed in movies or TV..I think it's one of the reasons I don't appreciate Wes Anderson's films much
well deserved..well deserved indeed
that should be a lesson for Hollywood..stop being greedy..tighten up your hands while delivering quality..keep your budgets low and no movie would ever flop
true..which might lead to a good opening..but with heavy drops..unless the movie detached itself from any religious themes and was nothing but a plot device
first of all it's a very small movie..why would it cost more? (I know it's an all-star cast but still)
2nd of all..does this movie really have an OS appeal? I mean the movie's premise is about Shiva which is a Jewish ritual when somebody dies..it's like making a movie about Ramadan..not sure how much this will affect its potentials
a good comparison would be the Coen Brother's A Serious Man which only made 30 mil WW
