  1. A colleague told me two days ago that 2001 is "boring" and "stupid", and "the only interesting part is the last 5 minutes". I have refused to communicate with him since.
  2. Official news that he was returning was announced last February. There were reports that he was returning before that time, though.
  3. Yeah, I don't see it being influenced by the election. If the film is ready to go then I don't know why think September is the best place for it.
  4. It's one thing to push back a film that's complete fiction, but pushing back a film by almost 1 year when it is a current events movie is idiocy. Unless there are just some big production issues... but I thought the film was finished already.
  5. Guardians of the Galaxy: -55.3% Man of Steel: --64.6%* Fantastic Four: -59.4% I don't know what you are considering "bad" but a drop like Guardians would give it 59M weekend; Man of Steel's would be 47M. Not being PG-13 may weaken the 2nd weekend. The drop here was surprising. Even considering that it is the holidays right now, I didn't expect it to be performing like this, thought it would do a bit better. I would say 55-60M.
  6. 11. 209 POINTS "Roger, Roger. What's our vector, Victor?" Released: 1980 Director: Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, Jerry Zucker Not in the top ten? Surely you can't be serious... #11
  7. 12. 204 POINTS "You want to find an outlaw, hire an outlaw. You want to find a Dunkin Donuts, call a cop." Released: 1987 Director: Joel Coen This time, the Coens' very first comedy film - and one of Nic Cage's first performances (widely cited as his best, too). RAISING ARIZONA steals #12.
  8. 13. 196 POINTS "This is what happens when you find a stranger in the Alps" Released: 1998 Director: Joel Coen Could it be? The Coen Brothers made a well-received comedy? How such a lazy film can get to #13 on this list is anyone's guess, but you know, that's just because of like like, your opinions and votes, man.
  9. 14. 194 POINTS "Two things, okay? Shut. Up." Released: 2001 Director: Andrew Adamson, Vicky Jenson Revitalising a film genre, launching a new studio in to the stratosphere, changing perceptions and expectations from audiences of all ages, SHREK is a true icon of 21st Century film. It peels away the layers of our list to find its true self at #14.
  10. 15. 191 POINTS "What's wrong with being sexy?" Released: 1984 Director: Rob Reiner And we stray further into the territory of endlessly quotable films, and the pinnacle of mockumentary cinema (if such a thing exists). THIS IS SPINAL TAP is #11 on the list.
  11. Yeah the title confused me too, I was pretty sure they had already shot the movie.
  12. Next week is the last week of Star Wars for us. It feels like it only came out yesterday. Two months is a pretty damn good run though, although hasn't lasted as long as Spectre did.
  13. TDKR opened in 18 countries, only a few of those being major territories. Countries like China, France, Germany, scandinavia, Mexico, Japan all came later. BvS is opening in 51 territories according to IMDB. Including China. (and the others I mentioned) Not really a fair comparison.
  14. Grimsby Unlimited showing is not looking very busy, should that be a concern? I kinda figured the film is going to be a big hit. I really thought PPZ was gonna do decently, I heard so many people talking about it, but £0.36M weekend is abysmal, even worse than its US performance.
  15. That's all for today, will try to get this done by Friday, finally.
  16. 16. 189 POINTS "We're on a mission from God." Released: 1980 Director: John Landis The final John Landis film on this list is a classic comedy piece. THE BLUES BROTHERS got votes from you, you and you, and as a result it's #16.
  17. 17. 183 POINTS "Name: Austin Danger Powers. Sex: Yes, please!" Released: 1997 Director: Jay Roach The antithesis of every Bond film, this parody has earned its place in the annals of comic cinema. AUSTIN POWERS: INTERNATIONAL MAN OF MYSTERY dances into place #17.
  18. 18. 176 POINTS "Kiss my sweaty balls, you fat fuck." Released: 2009 Director: Armando Iannucci Outrageous, politically scathing, and obscene, IN THE LOOP is likely our list's most profane film. Maybe that's why it has weasled its way into #18.
  19. 19. 175 POINTS "Water polo? Isn't that terribly dangerous?" Released: 1959 Director: Billy Wilder Successful, original and influential, this has all the markings of an iconic movie. And so it is - SOME LIKE IT HOT masks itself as #19 in the list.
