  1. It was dumped in January in the US; here in the UK it got an August dump. It came out on Friday and is playing in a few cinemas for about one week.
  2. I genuinely loved it. It's the LABYRINTH sequel I've been waiting for my whole life. Shame Disney dumped it, so no one watched it, but I suspect it'll become a cult movie in 10 years time. It's so fucking weird, but in a unique way that only George Lucas could have brought us. Really nice to see a mainstream animated movie which stands out and stands on its own. Much better than recent WDAS movies (and I say that being a fan of things like BH6). Lucas's best movie since third Indiana Jones, I guess that's 26 years ago? Not bad.
  3. Oh and marathons that start early, they don't get to show the last film until midnight, so that doesn't count.
  4. Our previews are almost always midnight shows, no? Maybe cinemas around here are different to yours.
  5. funny this got brought to the top of this subforum, I literally just watched this (great) film last night as Goffe posted that comment ^
  6. I was just wondering if the Benghazi film, and BvS, will change my views on Bay and Snyder. Who knows. I wouldn't bet on it though...
  7. Anyone who thinks Spielberg's post-2000 films haven't been a draw, are deluding themselves. His films quality may have gone down but box office wise most have been smash hits.
  8. I dunno if you're being negative but it's actually pretty great when someone you disliked proves you wrong, ups their game and does something good. I'm glad he has finally made a decent movie.
  9. I haven't put too much thought into it, and I'm not including a 1965 list because I haven't seen enough to list that many truly brilliant films from the year. I've just done 5 for each of the other years as it just makes the list simpler. I think all the following films are remarkable - I didn't do a list for 1965 but here are the others: 1975: 1. Barry Lyndon 2. Monty Python and the Holy Grail 3. Jaws 4. The Rocky Horror Picture Show 5. Death Race 2000 1985: Back to the Future Commando Brazil Runaway Train Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome 1995: Leaving Las Vegas Toy Story Apollo 13 12 Monkeys Dead Man Walking 2005: King Kong Brokeback Mountain War of the Worlds Lord of War The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 2015: Maggie The Tale of the Princess Kaguya Love & Mercy Ex Machina Inside Out
  10. Done Paper Towns, done Train wreck... now UNCLE time. Let's see if Ritchie has made his first good film.
  11. Yeah, was announced a long time ago that it opens Monday. Makes sense as it decreases the weekend load on cinemas, and they can use all that half term money (26th is first day of holidays) Seeing an 8pm release is interesting though, I actually had thought the previews would be on Sunday with the film releasing Monday morning. I wonder if this will spark the American trend of evening previews the day before release.
  12. Is there any marketing at all for it? I can't see anyone talking about it on social media. Trailers don't have many views on YT. Johnny Depp has a very poor box office history.
