  1. Sorry if it sounded stupid. To be honest I had never really thought about it, is all. I live in Europe where multiple countries sharing currency is quite normal. There are a few countries that don't use the euro and you can generally buy things in euros in most places.
  2. I have to say the green screen in this film is awful. Characters are talking to each other and the screen clearly behind their heads looks so fake. All of the car action, people driving, looks like those parodies you see on youtube. It's really that bad. I don't know how this happens in a $200M film in 2019. worst driving-in-a-car-on-greenscreen I've seen in a new film in many years. You'd think this is a basic thing to get right in a Fast and Furious film. I don't recall noticing it in previous films but it is so jarring and awkward any time anything happens in the film. This is the case in majority of shots/scenes.
  3. yeah sorry, I am confusing the films. I was waiting for Cena to show up in Hobbs and Shaw and confused why he never did.
  4. good fun, my favourite of the series. First act is hilarious. Really really good. Rock/Statham insulting each other is great. Second act dips a bit with all the action kinda gets a little dull in places / drags. Third act is top form, when they have the "battle" and the bad guys guns disable, and all the Samoan guys charge with their spears and hammers, really made me feel like shouting and cheering. I wasn't expecting a set up of a new family but it works way better than it has in previous films. This one really leans into the ridiculous nature of the series and pokes fun at itself. Major complaint: the really jarring terrible greenscreen throughout the entire film. 70% of the film is clearly shot on green screen and it's done BADLY, I have seen better youtubers do green screen stuff. It's super awkward and this is any time they're outdoors. all of the car action, fighting etc. has awful obvious screen behind them. The family house looks so clearly like a set with green screen it looks shite. Funny moment when they're standing on a mountain and camera is showing beautiful valley, and the green screen is clearly right in front of their faces. I don't normally criticise this stuff but its terrible in this film. Also funny ADR where Hobbs mum is shouting and it's echoing.... even though they're outdoors.
  5. obviously not gonna give spoilers, but this film does set up an alternative F&F series and it would be quite possible for Dwayne Johnson to no longer appear in the main films. I wonder if this whole thing was simply invented to keep Dwayne and Vin both in F&f without having them work together. That really shows the star power of Dwayne Johnson imo...
  6. Good. It's really funny and some scenes people were in complete stitches. The people walking out near me at the end said it was awesome. Think people will like it, especially because they double down with the FAMILY theme, it's quite endearing.
  7. I thought Netflix has greenlit Andy's Animal Farm. Why isn't he going full steam ahead on that, why on earth would he be interested in the sequel to VENOM.
  8. I didn't even realise Canada had its own currency. Do you use both? As in, do shops accept USD? Or do people only use CAD? Similar to Switzerland is not the euro but you can pay with euros everywhere.
  9. Why do you say that? Because the trailer has multiple cuts? The trailer is not the film. In order to show different parts of the film in the space of 2 minutes it has to edit the film... The cinematography in the trailer does give that sweeping effect like the revenant.
  10. Yes that's what I think too. I hate how people spread false news so happily without checking source.
  11. That account looks pretty unreliable and spreading false news. Tiny, new account, appears to just regurgitate things it hears regardless of truth.
  12. It's not. That AT filmupdates account is just repeating the false news that the guy above posted. In fact he may well be the same person behind both accounts, who knows. Fake News.
  13. Jeez that trailer was so annoying. Got it every single time i swear. HURRDURR FORGET YOU WATCHED THE PREVIOUS TRAILERS AND ONLY WATCH MEN IN BLACK INTERNATIONAL
  14. Has that guy had any track record with this kind of info? It's quite sad how many people have twitter accounts where they pretend to reveal insider information in a desperate attempt to have any relevance to other people.
  15. Not really. Guardian is not consistent -- they have multiple film critics so different tastes. Peter Bradshaw, Mark Kermode, there's at least two others, who regularly review films. You can find 4 guardian reviews on the same film giving completely different ratings.
  16. Thanks for finding / compiling that mate. Appreciate it. So Avatar is still #1 globally Although I suspect the population of the Endgame countries is more... due to it having China + India
  17. Yeah, that's what I meant - those reasons were to blame for TLK flopping, not negative critic reviews.
  18. Skyscraper was fun, Central Intelligence i think i also liked, even if I cant remember a single thing other than Kevin Hart in a shopping trolley in the trailer
  19. Do you see the bit under my avatar where it says "20,000 posts", yes I have heard of press screenings before.
  20. I haven't watched the trailer but that's a neat premise, hope this is something that gets an actual push from Universal as this story has a lot of resonance with many people. I can imagine it getting some serious media attention if alt-right commentors latch on to it, could get some news stories out of that, which would benefit the film.
