Weekly figures. Decent holds for Jason, Ben and the Bad Moms. Lots of new openings this weekend: War Dogs, Mike & Dave, Nerve, Neon Demon and Nine Lives, plus a local movie (Delgada Línea Amarilla) and previews for STB. Based on the amount of available screens in Cinepolis, I say the battle will be close, with the Squad and the wedding date seekers as frontrunners, and the trekkers if the previews qualify for the report! SS and SLOP keep climbing the all time lists, details in this thread:

SS, Ben Hur and SLOP repeated in the Top 3 last weekend. But Stone Hands (Manos de piedra) should win this coming one.

How close is SLOP from Dory? Is the pescao still #1 of the year?

This is the all time (since 2004) admission ranking from IA4 to IA5... SLOP should pass Shrek 2, but MU and IO are a stretch. Probably around $4.25M, $5M if it has extremely good legs (which is a rarity these days...) Weekend actuals. Holiday season is truly over! Jason Bourne is #1, highest OW in the franchise with about $1.5M. which is a bit meh all things considered. Bad Moms doesn't hit the million mark (as expected), while The Shallows rebounds big time (wonder if it got expanded?) SS is now the #3 movie of the year (behind two other superhero films) and #19 all-time, sandwiched between TFA and San Andreas. Meanwhile, SLOP jumped over SM3 and Avatar to become the #17 most attended movie ever.

BEN-HUR is an international flop, as well. Paramount's remake scored just $6.3M in 35 markets, $21M total.

Weekend estimates (Screendaily) Jason Bourne #1, $1.5M, about the same in USD than Identity and Ultimatum, but probably the highest in lc. Ben Hur $1.1M weekend, $4.9M cume. The Purge 3 $950K weekend for a $3M total. To be updated...

Yeah, bleedin' ER. The low ticket price also impacted negatively. A movie with a 10M audience should gross around 450M lc ($25M) in average.

Official weekend figures. Ben Hur with an unremarkable OW, Purge 3 manages to keep the horror momentum, Ghostbusters deflating. And in the "I never saw this coming" section: SS will pass FD in lc gross, and SLOP may end up with a bigger audience than the fish. Who knew.
