Sounds about as bad as expected.
This is what you get when you hire a hack like Fleischer. Guy couldn't make a good movie out of a cast that included Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, and Emma Stone.
Like Daredevil? Like Catwoman? Yeesh.
I don't think one bad comic book movie is going to stall Hardy's career. The one upside of the post-movie star era is that, just like movies don't typically rise and fall based on stars anymore, neither do careers rise and fall based on ability to draw.
So you guys want actors to lie to protect your feelings/excitement about the movie?
They're people just like you and me, if they're honest, they're honest.
Funny, I thought the same but in reverse. Original Ghost Rider is really bad but amusingly so with a reliably goofy Cage performance. The sequel is technically better-made but super forgettable.
He had control on Gone Girl as well, so I don't really understand their problem. I'll maintain that there was no greater upside for a Dragon Tattoo movie at Christmas than 100 mil domestic.
Saw Fahrenheit. It's pretty powerful but it preaches to the choir, and Moore always leans more into opinion and conjecture versus investigation. It makes for a more entertaining documentary, if not very informative.
Judging by the box office I take it most liberals have moved past his schtick I guess.
What? You've got a big IP and Ferrell and Reilly getting back together. This is doing 100 mil if they don't botch the marketing...but they are botching it so far. I don't understand the lack of a trailer at this juncture.
You're right to some extent, but I'm not much of a fan of Hollywood's and pop culture's tendency to look backwards instead of looking at the present. We need more protest films and protest songs about the present administration. It's absolutely insane to me that two years in and there's not more of a counterculture for that...just goes to show how corporate everything's become.
You're out of your goddamned mind. Disney's audience (and hell, the critics too) are waaay too soft on their product. Hence an average Marvel movie like Black Panther getting praise up and down for having an "ok" villain and cool costumes.
Not everything off of the festival circuit got great reviews. Front Runner, Destroyer, Beautiful Boy, Halloween, Boy Erased, Suspiria, Peterloo, Outlaw King, Ben is Back, Life of Donovan were all polarizing. And as others have mentioned, probably a slew of lesser known films that were panned or barely reviewed because they didn't make an impact on any critics or pundits.
