  1. Saw it at SXSW. Pretty damn great and I actually dug it more than Get Out. My review here if anyone is interested: http://thefilmexperience.net/blog/2019/3/11/sxsw-jordan-peele-has-another-winner-with-us.html
  2. I feel like critics, now more than ever, are prudes. Unless the movie's about women or LGBT folk, then have all the raunch you want.
  3. They're quite beautiful. Maybe your theater that day sucked? Happened to me with Black Panther. Movie looked like shit in theaters.
  4. I could see that. Nolan is nothing if not a director who goes after the buzziest great actors (Dunkirk excluded). Him and Villenueve have that in common and I love them for it.
  5. Saw it last week and it was quite disappointing. Thankfully it wasn't dubbed which I half expected, but my goodness what awful editing. Half of all dialogue is delivered as VO or OS as well as riddled with irrelevant numbers like "unit 2418" or "engine 113224." On top of that the subtitles got worse as the movie went on, eventually becoming straight-up broken English by the third act. Fortunately the visual effects get better as it goes. There are definitely some haunting images and interesting set pieces, even if you don't care one iota about a majority of the characters, many of whom are barely given an introduction yet the script asks you to care about them anyway. In other words, very much on brand on for disaster films.
  6. Looking forward to Craig's story coming to an end. Best Bond in my opinion.
  7. They both help each other. It's pretty equal in terms of who saves who in Green Book. Plus, it doesn't really matter...this is Tony Lip's story. No one ever said this was Dr. Shirley's story.

  9. IDK about anyone else but they've been overplaying that Shazam trailer in theaters when I go, so as far as I'm concerned they're marketing it TOO MUCH.
  10. Fallout was my #5 so I'm happy with that. Wish You Were Never Really Here had made the list though.
  11. Why did Littlefinger even need a wig? Just grow your hair out for fuck's sake! It's not like he's bald.
  12. I truly don't understand audiences' aversion to new shit (outside of horror of course)...movies aren't THAT expensive that people should be so risk-averse and only watch familiar brands and franchises, particularly now with sub services like AMC Stubs. Regardless, we still get around 6-8 original or "original" blockbusters a year. I'll take it.
