  1. Star Wars X's best shot is if we had a Star Wars blackout for another 10 years... 10 years of inflation should do the trick
  2. @The Mad Panda It's easy to a few bad films in a decade but I'm talking about the quality of blockbusters as a whole. For simplicities sake here's the top 5 highest grossing films from the 1990 vs 2010 and onwards, going to use domestic (inferior to worldwide) for ease pulling data 1990 - Ghost, Home Alone, Pretty Woman, Dances with wolves, Teenage Ninja Mutant Turtle Dudes 2010 - Toy Story 3, Alice in Wonderland, Iron Man 2, Twilight: Eclipse, Deathly Hallows winner 1990 with the edge 1991 - Terminator 2:Judgment Day (another highest grossing film of the year look at that (how does he do it(no really?))), Robin hood and the prince of thieves, Beauty and The Beast, Silence of the Lambs, City Slickers 2010 - Deathly Hallows 2, Transformers Dark Moon, Twilight Breaking Dawn P1, Hangover Part 2, Pirates of Caribbean Stranger Tides winner 1990 crushing defeat 1992 - Aladdin, Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, Batman Returns, Lethal Weapon 3, A Few Good Men 2012 - Marvel's The Avengers The Dark Knight Rises The Hunger Games Skyfall The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey winner 1992... Avengers marked the death of cinema as we knew it, the cape scourge went to new levels 1993 - Jurassic Park Mrs. Doubtfire The Fugitive The Firm Sleepless in Seattle 2013 - The Hunger Games: Catching Fire Iron Man 3 Frozen Despicable Me 2 Man of Steel winner 1993 1994 - Forrest Gump The Lion King True Lies (Look at what we have here) The Santa Clause The Flintstones 2014 - American Sniper The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 Guardians of the Galaxy BV Captain America: The Winter Soldier The LEGO Movie winner 1994, crushing defeat getting tired now.. 2015 had TFA which ruined star wars forever so that would probably lose to.
  3. I'm very pleased with the state of the Avatar franchise, currently got the highest max quality, highest average quality and the highest average gross. Quality meets Gross, truly incredible
  4. Is that Infinity War 6 or so released after 20 more years of inflation?
  5. Nothing in cinema right now is able to make just half of Avatar hitting that 0.5A. Although that's not something to be ashamed of as only 5 non-Jim films have ever done it.
  6. Imagine a film where everyone is the audience! Can't think of any though I agree the weekend is where RP1 is going to make it's dollar, hoping to see a strong weekend hold.
  7. original films tend to have bigger legs because their opening weekend isn't inflated, I'm crossing my fingers for $150m
  8. What do you reckon we're looking at here total?
  9. sorry I started talking philosophy! It wasn't my intention to do that as I'm against this franchise era we're in, even if Jim is about to show their own game is done properly.
  10. Original movie just means it's not based on or part of existing media
  11. It's sad but it makes sense. All you have to do is look at the top 100 grossing films of all time and ignore the first two.
  12. Avatar isn't Pocahontas either but that doesn't stop em' posting it... just brush it off
