We got 3 oscar winning actor/actresses, we got a James Cameron original script, we got the director of sin city. We got a $200m budget. We got fantastic source material. We got James Cameron CGI. It's a LIGHTSTORM ENTERTAINMENT PRODUCTION. This has everything needed to make it big, obviously I'm not as confident as I would be if Jim was directing it, I'm certain it can at least make fox some money. -
I mean I realised there was a chance a good chance he was joking, but someone could read it and not know context so I just have to but the correction in the thread. I mean someone might actually go watch Piranha 2 because they saw James Cameron directed it, lets not ruin their day.

James Cameron: "[They gave me directing credit] against my will. I wanted them to take it off but they wouldn't do it. It could be kid of funny, in a real macabre, George Romero kind of way "(Dark Side magazine 1992) It's surprising that posters on a box office forum could know so little about the box office king.

Jim said Disney had invested more than Fox into Avatar, and Fox put forward $1b dollars.

I wouldn't wish for a net gain in suffering at my expense, perhaps another crash would be a catalyst for everyone to get their act together. I'll let the chips fall where they may and if it happens to make Avatar 2 the highest grossing film in all foreseeable time, then great.

Jim almost died on the set of Abyss. http://techland.time.com/2009/12/14/james-cameron-almost-died-making-the-abyss/2/ Starts half way down the second page. TLDR: Cameron out of air at the bottom of the tank, he starts ascending to the surface but has to breath out all the air in his lungs so they don't explode. Close to the top a safety diver stops him as he is meant to and gives him an oxygen mask, except this oxygen mask was broken. The diver holds on to gym to prevent him exploding his lungs, he thinks Cameron is panicked so he is trying his hardest to save him. Cameron had to punch the diver to escape his grasp.

This interview was incredible, loads of good shit. My prophecy of Avatar as the first film to $3b is one step closer. @Squadron Leader Tele Jim throwing shade at internet forums generating a backlash against the highest grossing film of all time. "Wow that films was great!" goes on the internet when home "Avatar is LITERALLY just Pocahontas in space"

Just got back from Justice League. It was a perfectly serviceable cape movie, I much preferred Man oF Steel and BvS to it though. Seeing it fail is it's kind of good as the I'll love to see studios put their money in new IPs. However with Thor doing so well that's obviously not the case. unrelated note... Ready Player One trailer looked great
