Don't really understand the rhetoric that Star Wars fans are the worst, it's just got so many fans it's got a larger volume of vocal ones. Anyway what's wrong with being vocal, would you rather a glib facsimile of our world, a world with no passion?

So I just finished Made in Abyss, it's incredible. However it's an incomplete story and looks like a second season is years away.

I'll be at the premier so I don't think I need to worry about this.

What if it follows neither, as they've all had very different receptions and different contexts going in. R1 a stand-alone/spin-off film, less likely to get huge midnight release. TFA long awaited Star Wars film that fans had been waiting forever for TLJ is a sequel to TFA

It's not certain yet, with the same multiplier as TFA (midnight release to OW) it will make <$200m

I think I legitimately have the best odds of being the winner, although I think I prrobably lowballed. However if it's anything from 100m to 198m I win, whereas everyone else has a 1-2m range where they win.

People on this site are completely mixed, I've been in the spoilers thread and I can tell the reaction is not positive. Read some of the reviews. I wouldn't call predicting BvS to do more than $1b stupid at all, we saw The Avengers do incredible when they brought their franchise together. Superman and Batman are the two of the biggest superheroes of all time (only spiderman competes). TDK made over a billion and man of steel was no slouch. I don't think you can call this anywhere near as stupid (or even stupid at all) as predicting TLJ over TFA.

Whose to say it will have a 3.3x mutliplier. We could be vastly underestimating word of mouths power (lol), we could see a superhero movie type drop in the second week.

I'm starting to think there is an outside chance that Botb might be the highest grossing (world wide) movie of 2017.

With Star Wars now out of the equation, does anything other than Avatar 2 have a chance at beating $2.78b worldwide? Infinity Wars is just another superhero movie, it's got no chance. It would have to be something new right.

Hey man don't be mean theforceuser is new here. I predicted the Overseas being higher than the Dom but.. starting to think it might be almost a 50/50 split. $650-$720m DOM is what I predicted.

Yes, he went to Disney to hardball fox, they rang him up because they couldn't pass up on the director of Titanic (still the greatest box office run to this day). They weren't reluctant on the sequels though.
