  1. And, to your assumption re: Chapman wanting to stay. I ask you, how does she know they don't pull the shit they pulled on her once again?
  2. I don't know but it can't be to good for the ego to be pulled aside from something that was yours to begin with. Anyone with a bit of pride, would say I'm out of here. I think Pixar has her by the short and curlies so they told her, you want your release (severance) then you'll have wait.I've been around the block buddy so I know how things work in big organisations.
  3. I think it didn't look good on Pixar to have those directors leave so quickly so maybe they thought Chapman's departure should be delayed a bit.
  4. What is Stanton saying here?http://twitter.com/andrewstanton/I'm getting the feeling that FN2 isn't a done deal yet (if at all).
  5. A former Disney guy was going to head up animation at Paramount but the guy was fired.http://latimesblogs....on-resigns.htmlA replacement for that position to my knowledge hasn't been announced. Personally, I think after the less than spectacular financial results with Rango, Paramount's back must be against the wall before they go ahead and proceed with an animated division. I know everyone sees the $$ in animation but it isn't as easy as it looks.
  6. Unfortunately, Rango was a money loser for Paramount so that'll make them a bit gun shy wanting to go it alone.
  7. I don't know the OS market much but hasn't France been a let down this summer for animated movies in general?
  8. It's an interesting piece but what's the point of it? I remember the day when you were concerned this was going to turn out to be a feminist type movie but now you are embracing or pointing to a piece that complains how unfair females have it.The movie has been out there long enough to have either gained momentum or not. You can't browbeat people into thinking something that isn't there. This will win the animated crown this summer on the back of the Pixar name but IMO the brand has taken a bit of hit with Cars2 and this (to a lesser extent). I know some wont like what I said but the truth hurts sometimes.
  9. I think IA4 was marketed very poorly so it doesn't surprise me to see it not reach Mad 3/Brave OW numbers,
  10. According to this, Sony will be distributing DWA films in the future.http://animationguildblog.blogspot.ca/2012/07/to-sony.html
  11. I don't see it being that big so I'm guessing 300m.
  12. I was just trying to point out that this had been announced before so it isn't really that surprising.
  13. I guess you didn't hear this when it was first announced.http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/dreamworks-developing-madagascar-penguins-spinoff-172353
  14. On the 24th day of its release this has already surpassed Mad2. That's quite good for a movie that some were saying was going do poorly.
  15. I had a problem with the twist but maybe I think I could handle it more if there was a better explanation (backstory) on why bears. I think I would have preferred that mother/daughter would have seen each others point through some other life experience. Perhaps, that could have happened if Merida had run away and in search for one another they'd learn of each others point.
  16. ^ I thought you were kidding but I think I could handle it; if you were serious.
  17. I helped contribute to that number yesterday. I thought the movie was good but it could have been so much better if only Pixar had more time to work on it. I didn't like the whole Mystical/witchy stuff.
