  1. Voldemort couldn't defeat one teenager, he'd definitely get fucked up by five.
  2. I love In Bruges and have seen it a billion times, but Seven Psychopaths really didn't do it for me. I can't tell by this trailer which way it'll go, either way I'm checking it out.
  3. For this to have a fresh RT, I think a lot of reviews will have to be in the vein of TheWrap review, ie "oh wow, it wasn't actually that bad!". Low expectations are the order of the day!
  4. The trailers and marketing could not be any more bland. Not terrible, or great, but just bland. I'm very surprised to see positive buzz, might actually check this out now.
  5. I mean I haven't seen the movie, but going off the trailers I'm happy with it. It's not perfect, but I'd rather it skew too silly than too serious right, which was my initial fear.
  6. When this initial poster was released I was kinda nervous that they would take themselves a little too seriously. But now, whether the movie is actually good or bad, I'm pretty happy with the tone they went with.
  7. War elephants didn't fight things as fast or as mobile as a giant Goldar, or whatever other nonsense Rita throws at the zords. I wish they didn't do it because I don't like the look, but the "reasoning" is sound.
  8. In an interview, the director explained how the zords aren't dinosaurs, but simply designs inspired by dinosaurs. However, the alien technology would still make changes for practical reasons, and with the shape of mastodon, adding legs would make it more effective for battle. A sound explanation for practicality, but aesthetically it was a terrible decision.
  9. I dunno, depends on who we're spending time with during the slow burn. I wouldn't have minded chilling with just Cranston until the Atomic Breath Fatality.
  10. Scott Pilgrim's quick cuts, flashing colors, and constant barrage of jokes made me feel really old, and I was 24 when I watched it. The World's End is brilliant though, and it packs the biggest emotional punch of the cornetto trilogy.
  11. Shouldn't affect this either way. Scott Pilgrim is his only PG-13 movie, and it made fuck all.
  12. Saw it last night, it was a damn fun time at the cinema. Made me doubly excited for Kong v Godzilla, also made me more interested in Vogt-Roberts' Metal Gear Solid.
  13. The international trailer is better, and feels a lot more Edgar Wrighty, but I bet the more bland first trailer has been focused group tested and will do better for promotion.
  14. I don't think I've ever been this hyped for a movie I didn't think would actually be great.
  15. The Weekly Planet guys definitely aren't hipster experts, they're basically just guys, with the difference being they don't try to be "real" critics like a lot of YouTube people. Here are a couple of snippets from their podcasts that someone animated for fun, it'll give you a taste of their discussion humour: For the actual epiodes, just search The Weekly Planet on YouTube.
  16. I'll throw in my Fincher rankings: 1. Fight Club 2. Zodiac 3. Seven 4. The Social Network 5. Gone Girl 6. The Game 7. The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo 8. Panic Room 9. The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button Haven't seen Alien 3, probably never will.
  17. If you like humour with your reviews, check out the podcast The Weekly Planet. Different sort of funny than Double Toasted or Red Letter Media, but it's good fun.
  18. Hiding the commune in The Village would be relatively easy with money. And the elders were wealthy.
