James Franco's impersonation isn't as awesome as I'd hoped, but I'm now more excited for the movie itself. The crew cheering at the end of the last take is great.
Saw this last night, was pretty damn good. People are claiming it's the best of the 3, but I'm not so sure. Might have to give it time to sort it out, but Dawn is just so damn good. Rise is underrated too these days, and might be the best worst movie of a trilogy, at least since Before Sunrise.
Tomorrow I'm seeing both Planet Of The Apes and Spider-Man.
I can't fucking wait. This may actually eclipse my 2009 Inglourious Basterds / District 9 double bill.
I never trust filmmakers commenting on their own work. I remember Bryan Singer saying the Quicksilver scene from Apocalypse would be better than DOFP, but it turned out to be just longer but less interesting.
If we're talking modern trilogies, I still have Bourne and Oceans pretty high. And I didn't love the first two Apes movies so much that it has eclipsed those yet, let alone Lord Of The Rings and The Nolan Batmans.
Just saw this for the 45th time, seriously it's still so damn good. But to this day I regret watching it as a 7 year old, because shit like this has haunted my nightmares ever since:
I like her. I mostly disagree with her, but everyone else (Jahns, Stuckman, Campea, Schmoes etc) is so bland and they all say the same shit. Hate-watching Grace because she's at least saying something different (even if it's insane) is fun.
Kinda gutted this ain't getting a sequel, I actually didn't mind it.
Also, Naomi Scott and Ludi Lin are pretty damn fine. I just want some Pink/Black ranger sweaty training montages while the other 3 are eating krispy kremes off screen or something.
Luc/Rian rankings:
1. Brick
2. The Professional
3. The Fifth Element
4. Looper
5. Lucy
6. The Brothers Bloom
Using these rankings, and taking the Valerian and Last Jedi promo into account, I've gotta say... I think I'm looking forward to Valerian more too.
