  1. There's a wide gap between no-name and household name. Oscar winner Brie Larsen is a lot closer to the latter than Jing Tian.
  2. I wish Kong still did interviews, but we've all seen how insane he gets just from camera flashes right.
  3. Or because she's basically a no-name actress. Samuel L Jackson is getting love and he ain't white.
  4. Unlikely? I'd be astonished if it came anywhere near 400m worldwide.
  5. You're new here so I'll clear it up: YOU MUST CHOOSE A SIDE. And once you do, never back down, despite the evidence to the contrary. And if you see MrPink around mind your Nolan manners.
  6. Nothing in 3 was as silly or as fun as Rex and Blue vs Indomonus, or riding on a motorcycle with your own crew of raptors.
  7. ‘The Crown’ Star Vanessa Kirby Lands Lead Role in ‘Mission: Impossible 6’ http://variety.com/2017/film/news/the-crown-vanessa-kirby-mission-impossible-6-1202001666/
  8. Apparently there was a darker alternate ending, and it'll be included in DVD extras.
  9. What's the production budget on this? His only box office success are more due to low budgets than high grosses ($30m on $6m budget for Shaun, $80m on $12m budget for Hot Fuzz). If this cost more than $30m I'm not hopeful that this will make a profit.
  10. Reviews are looking good, but as always, I'll only take into account 3 reviews: Mark Kermode, Matt Zoller Seitz, and James & Mason from The Weekly Planet. Would be 4 but Wesley Morris doesn't do reviews anymore.
  11. I liked it a lot more than the other Yates movie last year. In any case, I hope I enjoy Kong more than either of those.
  12. Interesting conclusion, seeing as the disappointing part of those two movies are quite different. I'm getting more and more positive about this movie with every day.
  13. "Can you hear that?" "What?" "... Nothing." Can we add this to the list of lines of dialogue we should retire? Overall the trailer wasn't bad, but I don't get any feeling that it'll reach the horror heights of Alien, or the action greatness of Aliens. Plus I doubt they answer any of the questions left by Prometheus.
  14. I may not have really wanted sequels after the first one, but then I just remind myself that this man directed the two greatest action sequels of all time. I think a lot of people are going to be blown away.
  15. This sound great, thanks for the review. Also, I only signed up here because of your BvS review which I found on a DC sub on reddit, when I was desperate for any info. So double thanks!
  16. Godfuckingdammit I was already going to the damn movie, why did I watch this trailer and spoil some of the visuals?? Idiot. Anyway I'm seeing this opening weekend.
  17. Goddammit I was right to be worried, I didn't really love Arrival either. Incendies and Enemy are still peak Villeneuve in my opinion. And seeing as I've only ever liked two Gosling movies, I'm not optimistic that Blade Runner will change that.
  18. I think you're subconsciously aware of the Olivia Munn effect. Here's her current streak: The Babymakers - 8% RT Deliver Us From Evil - 28% RT Mortdecai - 12% RT Ride Along 2 - 14% RT X-Men Apocalypse - 48% RT Office Christmas Party - 41% RT That's an average of 25% over 4 years and 6 movies. The last only good film she had any meaningful role in was Magic Mike.
  19. People here have weird grudges, and they seem to have picked "sides" already. As if WB and Disney are sports teams that you support even when they're playing shit. If you go back and read the Ghostbusters thread (it will infuriate you though), you'll see extreme examples of this. If you defend a movie from announcement, for some reason you're locked into that corner forever and must defend it the whole way through. Same if you were dismissive about it: you now hate on every announcement, sniff at positive tweets, and write paragraph after paragraph about how bad it is. Oh and btw, "people here" includes me, because Nolan is the king and fuck you if hate on a Nolan movie.
