  1. I don't think they will reboot even if one of the movies flopped , unless it was a very important movie, like justice league or batman or superman. If an Aquaman movie flopped, they will just ignore his existence and move on. They will not need to reboot anything, just avoid his solo movies and maybe give him some small role in a solo movie for another character or something.
  2. I'd say there is nothing excellent about this article , a reboot? Starting over? That's the worst thing WB can do right now. No matter if people want to believe it or not, these movies have created a new fan-base , got a following from a huge part of the old fan base while angering a smaller part of it , and others who are not fans and will generally forget what they saw a couple of months later till some other DCEU movie trailer interest them. In general, all WB have to do is to give time for a real good script to develop and have solid main plot points + make sure the movie is structured well and coherent ( they should keep their hands out of the editing room and leave the poor editor to his work! ) Most of the cast is widely accepted and some have been the best in their respective roles. The only exception being Lex Luthor , and I have a feeling that will change, not by changing the actor but by changing how he's interrupting the character. rebooting now will alienate all the current fan-base , which is huge. Big big mistake.
  3. I've recently watched blood father and Mel was the only thing I liked about that movie. He can act magnificently. I really missed him as an actor. DO IT! I'll be the first to join!
  4. I can actually see that from where I live.Cinemas are expanding and people are making it a weekend must. 10 years ago I would just walk in and buy my ticket with barely a couple of people before me. Now I am buying my tickets in advance and I never buy/pre-order anything in advance. And if I don't, I get the worst seats or no seats ( specially with superhero movies)
  5. I could not agree more. I think the love and hate thing comes from it being a direct competition to Marvel (that has roots for ages in history ) so a lot of fans from both sides are being extremes. My sister has never in her life read a comic book , she is a very serious person ( unlike myself ) she teaches high school students , never thought I would see her attend a superhero movie three times. It happened with BvS. some of her students that were hard core Marvel or DC fans were having actual wars at school , and one day she talked about BvS and said how much she loved it and not knowing what DC or Marvel is , she said she enjoyed it way more than civil war and it's like a volcano erupted. The DC club went all high and the Marvel club screamed objections, AND this is how my sister knew of something called Marvel and DC , the poor thing ..... my best friend likes Marvel ( the MCU ) , she has made a promise to herself to never see a DC movie in cinema even if it got 100% on RT even though she has never read a comic it's really funny, she doesn't like the fact that MCU now has competition. I keep telling her they can co-exist ........
  6. I get what you're saying and I agree about a couple of things. It's not the no1 that matters on it's own. It's the no1+ How well it's selling. Even before the rotten reviews I have never thought SS would hit 700M without china. And with those rotten reviews I thought it would barely reach 550 then later I thought 650. I think the interest for DC movies is there and it's huge.I had many issues with SS , I did not hate it but I could see the fractured narrative. It was tampered with heavily in post production that's for sure. But just imagine what a well structured SS with china would do ..... the potential is huge. The same goes with BvS , it was divisive for sure but I have to say , it wasn't children friendly. It wasn't made for everyone. Even with that it made almost 900M. I assure you if it was kid friendly with a bit of pointless humor, even with a worse structured narrative, it would have crossed the 1B mark. I loved it by the way ( I know, not everyone will agree, which is cool by me) The DCEU movies for me are in this order BvS >>>>>>>>>> SS > MOS even though MOS is the better structured movie between them , I enjoyed it the least even though I like superman more than batman. in short, all this talk about " it made this or achieved that only because there is no competition" is actually pointless IMO. It all comes to interest in the end. STB did not have that interest even though it was a better structured movie, so no matter what time of the year it opens it will still perform in the same range give or take a couple of millions.
  7. I think Fox is doing it because of the deal with Marvel , if they don't do a sequel they loose the rights to characters or something. I think they saw what happened with deadpool and saw potential in FF characters ,IF they are used right. They don't want to loose the rights. We all know it's the era of franchise. No competition in cinemas can make a difference, but not so much if you are not interested at all in a movie (see Ben Hur for example). I don't believe there is anything to do with competition and DVD sales. If it's selling well that means people got interested enough to actually buy a DVD to watch at home. I don't buy DVDs just for the heck of it. I watch on the net and only buy what I liked.
  8. great hold for DB , SS crossing the 300 mark on Monday, 320M domestic 700M WW is locked , Kubo ... it's getting better ... right ... right?
  9. We are not worthy of your kindness , oh almighty one! Please forgive us for we have sinned! I watched BvS 8 times in the cinemas and SS 3 times , oh how the fires will feast on my flesh from the very pits of hell. Joking aside , barely 10% of those fans accuse the critics of being payed or made petitions or death threats , those exist in every fandom. The Avenger's first rotten review got death threats you know. I am a fan and I'm happy those movies succeeded financially because I want to see more. Can they be better ? Of course , WB KNOWS that we want better. It's not like the company isn't going all out hiring talents with academy awards recognition and spending a lot of money. They lack guidance and I think they will get there. WB WANTS to make good movies. Stumbling along the way is not going to stop them from trying to be better in the future even with the current financial success , and they earned my money fair and square because I totally enjoyed myself for the ride!
  10. that's great for STB , china to the rescue if only SS opened there as well , I wounder how much it would have added to it's WW total , thinking at least 80M.
  11. I wonder how the posts before me came across , you know , the ones that actually accused the admins of bias. no need to get over anything , all is good dude .
  12. Great for DB! I predicted a 23M Ow , maybe I should go with 24.5 now. And great number for SS as well. Wasn't expecting it. I think 11M this weekend is almost locked.
  13. I'm not the one saying the mods are biased , see the " " when I said "biased mods" dude? I was making fun of those saying the mods are DC stans and are biased for DC but we are not supposed to take you seriously anyway so have fun posting away.
  14. yeah sure , that's why all BvS threads were locked and we had to discuss it in other threads , wonder why the "biased mods" didn't just ban the Marvel trolls and kept all those threads open
  15. winter soldier is >>>>> civil war, and it is the number 1 Marvel movie for me till this day.
  16. Good number for Don't breath , I'm going to predict a 23M OW. Horror is doing well this year , not that I'm complaining. I love a good horror movie and I can't wait to watch Don't breath. I'm still waiting for Lights out to open here (09/08) god knows when Don't breath will grace our cinemas.
  17. No harm in being biased , everyone is , one way or another.I agree about fan polls, the thing is , Michael's portrayal of Lex was Loved even by smallville's haters , who barely watched a season of it but still talk about him as great Luthor Who's your favorite Luhtor by the way? Gene hackman?
  18. They were aware of him , He wins every single poll as the best Lex to date, some fans actually started a petition. He wasn't a traditional Luthor btw , it was a new take on the character ( more exploration of what made him the villain that he is now ) but he still managed to give the role the essence of the traditional Luthor even when it's a new take and origin. I think that's exactly what BvS's Lex Luthor needs.I don't hate Jesse's portrayal, but I don't like it either ( even though I loved the movie ) they need to tone down his twitchy and jumpy mannerisms .
  19. Usually , I'd agree with that. But not all TV actors are like that. I think Michael has a lot of potential. He was great in that role and even when fans started to edit videos of him with some MOS and BvS footage, he still looked and felt like a great Lex . But then again that's just my opinion. Is there any hope left for Kubo
  20. He's the best, I always look for an excuse to spam his pictures, it was the best portrayal of Lex ever. And I rooted for him most of time
  21. Deadpool was not released in China. But yeah , Smallville lasted 10 seasons and it had the best live action Lex Luthor ever to date.
