  1. It was as much a MOS2 as CACW was CA3 , both used too many characters and new debuts for it to be a movie about a single character , in other words , no it wasn't. SS numbers are in no way doing better than deadpool , but it did much better than GOTG in some overseas markets ( where it got in a couple of days what GOTG got in it's entire run ). I believe at the end of the day SS will be so close to GOTG's WW total if not even a little higher if we remove China. You have to remember SS is getting those numbers overseas without the second biggest market being a part of it's gross. GOTG got 96+M from china remove that and it's WW total will be 677M WW , a number that is very much in the reach for SS and it might even out gross it.
  2. What's the fair in that? We are talking about people calling movies with almost 900M WW and 500M+ ww ( still counting ) a financial failures even though there were movies before that did almost the same (with almost the same budget) but are called financial hits. That's what we are talking about here. Whether DC could take a C level character and gross a lot is still yet to be seen.
  3. Not totally satisfied and a failure are two completely different things. People have been exaggerating this whole thing. Iron man 2 had a 200M budget and a WW gross of 600M+ I can give you many examples in the MCU and many other blockbusters having that kind of rate between budget and gross , are they all financial flops? It doesn't make sense. Mark Huges is an insider too why don't you take his story? There is the reported budget too.
  4. @Haley Ross , you're repeating yourself , what you're saying is based on rumors so it's meaningless.I'm not going to repeat myself anymore see @ UrosepsisFace who also answered you perfectly ,I'm not going to repeat the points he so elegantly posted. If you like to pretend that those movies are financial flops , go ahead , pretend , just don't use those as facts in a B.O forum.
  5. A rumor is not a fact so it has nothing to do with our numbers here or the B.O run or the success and failure of a movie. When it becomes a fact then we can use it to prove the movie was a flop. The changes in the company will happen because they wanted better , if it's a failure you wouldn't have seen Snyder directing JL now. So it's exactly what I called it , an exaggeration, if not even a falsification with all these insane numbers just to barely break even ,Specially when you compare it to many movies in the MCU that were called a financial hit.
  6. So basically , what I get from both of you is that all this talk about financial failure is bullshit , because it's either relying on a rumor or over how it made compared to other movies in the genre, which still makes it successful anyways , just not as successful as some would have loved it to be. Seriously , it's funny. All this talk is just exaggeration on top of exaggeration. When I was looking at the MCU movies gross using the same criteria used with DCU movies , I found out that they had to lose in many movies just to make a couple of profitable ones. Why did they even bother making more?
  7. If BvS and SS are failures financially too , doesn't that make almost most Marvel movies a financial failure as well? Comparing the budget with the gross , if SS needs something between 700-800 just to break even then all Marvel movies ,excluding the 1b gross, barely broke even or lost a lot of money. Even the X-men franchise would be a financial failure as well ..... so which is it exactly?
  8. I wonder how much China would have added to Suicide Squad's OS if it opened there , 80M maybe? I'm expecting a 652M WW for SS but I think with china it would have climbed to over 700M WW
  9. I'm still new to all this Box Office math so excuse me for asking , but what is the least amount SS needs to do on it's second weekend to be considered as having a good hold?
  10. Looking forward to this movie. I'm going to buy the novel too. Who can give me an advice regarding which to do first , watch the movie or read the novel?
  11. Liked it just like I liked the first conjuring. I think the CGI could have been better but I loved everything else. The actors , like many already said here , are great.
  12. I was way off on my CACW opening weekend prediction. I guess I over did it with 215M, but never expected it to go below 190 since it's Avengers 3. But still great B.O
  13. They are fair to compare while still in their respective context, which most people ignore.
  14. Any person who knows anything about the difference between the introduction and the climax will understand what I'm talking about , I guess you're not one of them.
  15. The two movies are different , just because they have heroes fighting each other does not make them similar movies. BvS is an introduction to a new universe while civil war is the start of a climax or more like the start of a change to an already built universe. BvS is about people meeting each other for the first time while CW is about friends that already know each other. The movies are totally different.
  16. Oh no God forbid , Marvel fans are angles, it's only the filthy DC fans it's only DC that has crazy with no life fans ....
  17. I agree, that's exactly what I said too , Superman was trying to say her full name since Batman does not know her or know who he is (Clark Kent) he was about to die and his mother will be left with Lex to do with her as he wants. It was like a last wish thing.
  18. Lol , it happened with BvS too.People gave it 1 star even before seeing it and Marvel >>>>> DC and all that crap. Crazy fans and the internet ... the most annoying formula.
  19. They are in the same universe , but we don't know exactly about the time line. There was a rumor that Lex will make an appearance too. Superman was mentioned in one of the trailers. The big question is , is it after or before the events of Batman v Superman?
  20. The present has only two movies ,I actually loved BvS but disliked MOS. And no , I have no problem with the present ( even when I was disappointed with some things ) and I'm looking forward to what comes next. These characters will outlive directors , writers and proved to stand the test of time. They are the first superheros and I will always care about their past , present and future. Just because I brought the past does not mean I'm hiding from the present no matter how much you'd like to think so
