Verified Audience Score now sits at 94% with 1k+ votes (4.7 out of 5 Avg)

    For comparison

Eternals (currently at 77%, landed a B on Cinemascore)

The Batman (currently at 87%, landed an A- on Cinemascore)

Multiverse of Madness (currently at 85%, landed a B+ on Cinemascore) PS: Ignore what I said about Eternals on that thread

Thor Love and Thunder (currently at 77%, landed a B+ on Cinemascore)

Black Adam was 89(or 90) and got a B+ I think as well. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong.

When will we finally get another big DCEU hit?! It’s been way too long!

Shazam was a modest hit due to its low budget, Birds of Prey flopped, TSS flopped and now Black Adam is a flop.

Im not counting WW84 and TSS for obvious reasons, but if I were WB I’d stop green lighting lesser known characters, even if the budget is lower, until the universe is back on track and able to support said characters like the MCU.

Still excited for Blue Beetle but Black Adam’s current performance has me nervous!

The only problem with black adam is the budget, it’s performing exactly like the movie should for the character it is. Making less popular characters is fine as long as you keeps budgets in check. If Blue Beetle costs them the same or a bit more then Shazam and it performs the same they’ll be very happy. Not every movie is making over 500m, especially when they aren’t marvel(and aren’t getting a release in China or Russia).

Yeah, I don't know, the excitement for Cavill's Superman feels like a very online-fandom specific thing. He wasn't especially well-received in the role. But if Man of Steel 2 is a great movie and is a clear shift from the Snyder DCEU, it could still be a big hit.

Ya, agreed. While I think Cavills stardom has definitely risen from when he first made MOS I don’t think him being Superman really “helps” box office perspectives. With that said, a well received Superman blockbuster can do big numbers so there’s definitely potential.

Me saying the movie isn’t going to make money isn’t trolling it’s reality.  He won’t get another deal like that if he gets a sequel.. but I’m glad your happy he made his money because that’s what really matters

We all know the movie isn’t making money, what’s trolling is asking why he’s doing what he’s doing to promote his movie when it’s obvious to everyone why he does what he does.

Either way, post whatever you want, I’m not a mod and don’t care, I’ll just ignore you.

He’s not making any money on this though is he so I guess it’s not that simple is it lol

I mean he got paid over 20m for the movie so I’d say he did make money, and it’s obvious you’re just trolling anyways so I won’t bother responding to you anymore. If you really don’t understand why he does what he does there’s no helping you.

lmao I don’t know why Dwayne is batting so hard for a film that will be lucky to make 1 dollar profit.. drawing even more attention to a flop isn’t really ideal. Rolling out the covid carpet of excuses is also nonsensical after we’ve had Top Gun Maverick glide to an easy 700M DOM alone with older audiences.

I mean it’s pretty obvious why he does this stuff, for money. His production company is in on the movie and he wants to see his movie flourish and build out from there, he’ll just make more money. This isn’t rocket science folks.
