  1. Blank why are you reading last year's Thanksgiving weekend thread.
  2. Just makes me more thankful for the existence of Walk Hard.
  3. Which is why I felt the need to specify what it is. Maybe we'll get Sorry to Bother You in theaters in like spring 2020.
  4. It can still be picked up for limited release in major cities. And be sold as fun and weird, unlike the dour and heavy Synecdoche.
  5. Speaking of overseas openings, you know what just came out in Russian theaters this weekend? Miss Sloane. Yes, the Jessica Chastain gun lobbyist movie from almost two years ago. I thought it was some kinda perverse joke but apparently not. Amazing.
  6. wasp and incredibles clearly benefited from double features with cristopher robin. why would their PTAs stay basically flat or increase otherwise.
  7. Did Paramount give A Quiet Place a late push just so it could crawl above Interstellar on the all-time chart? Jul 13–15 30 $83,484 -38.8% 132 -30 $632 $187,615,740 15 Jul 20–22 32 $101,402 +21.5% 108 -24 $939 $187,771,561 16 Jul 27–29 29 $113,058 +11.5% 158 +50 $716 $187,954,270 17 216 A Quiet Place Par. $188,024,361 2018 217 Interstellar Par. $188,020,017 2014 I guess now they can say it's their highest grossing original movie domestically since Titanic. Unless there are some DWA movies you can count.
  8. I hope the Friday is under $31k so it can still stay at 699m on its 169th day. Then have it hit 700 on day 170. Beautiful.
  9. I haven't seen lots of cult and popular favorites from like the mid-90s to mid-00s. Mean Girls, Donnie Darko, Office Space, Almost Famous, Lock Stock Barrels, High Fidelity, all Kevin Smith movies, etc. All came out when I was a preteen and before I got seriously into movies, and if I never randomly came across them on TV I didn't feel the urge to seek them out later. Didn't see Requiem for a Dream until last year. Highest grosser I've never seen is Jurassic World. I'm more than fine with that.
