  1. I hope you have the 1978 Lord of the Rings because of the way the nazguls and orcs were illustrated. I've seen it twice as a kid, and still remember it quite vividly. I am under the assumption that it was very advanced at the time, would like to hear professional opinion.
  2. Taking into account that Disney made $75 million writedown for The Finest Hour (budget app. $100 million and BO success app. $75 million) and comparing the budgets, BO success and writedowns for the movies you mentioned, I'd say that if AiW2 makes $300 million the writedown will be app. $50 million. That is assuming that there was very little marketing.
  3. I know Chocolate is not important considering film industry, but for a simple/single person it can be. One might argue that Chocolate urges one to "live life to the max, not tolerate domestic violence, be more tolerant towards different people, not live following very strict rules and notice that changing scenery all the time has effect to one's children". It deals with everyday issued and has "warmth of life" in it that we all should find in our lives. Now I know this is a bit far-fetched and provocative, but looking at your top 10 with those "animal right movies", it is kind of harsh to say that Chocolate could not be important. It was interesting to read your list as I think it also gave some insight to you as a person (I am very new to this forum, so maybe this not new stuff to regular readers). I was kind of waiting to see "Conspiracy Theory" at top ten also . It just sometimes surprises me how people love conspiracy theories in NA (not saying they do not exist, I myself tend to think only good things from people). This post is NOT meant as offence even if I understand if you take is as such. Anyway, my hat is off to you, sir, for making this list and sharing it with us.
  4. Beg to differ, I think it was pretty obvious. Then again, might be that it flew over my head also...
  5. Hopefully Chocolat. Awesome movie ? When Johnny was still more than guy making weird faces... I am a bit disappointed Ringu has not made your list. Since I understood you're a horror fan. It did start somesort of "remake-fashion"(?)
  6. I am hoping for Sound of Music, but reckon it is a long shot. For a reason it is inked in MY dna. I am a fan of Peckinpah westerns, maybe The Wild Bunch? Anyhow, very happy to see the Breakfast Club on your list. [emoji4]
  7. Very happy with the AB total. Also Alice is doing fine when compared to its success every where else. My two cents...[emoji53]
  8. Howcome it is impossible? Because Nemo is Pixar instead of WDAS? Because of quality or subject? I don't think anybody saw ZOO making that much in (except maybe@cannastop [emoji6]), so why not Nemo? I wonder if Disney can somehow make use of the opening of the Shanghai Park in the marketing...
  9. Haven't seen the film yet, but I want to agree with you. I hoped better succcess for this film, but bad reviews are not entirely to blame. Compare for example to The Finest Hour; decent RT and total dud in BO, and maybe the Nice Guys; excellent RT and DOM BO doesn't look too shabby. And with Alice2 the meh WOM does not help either. My interpretation is that it has been seen by people who really were looking forward to it, and even they thought it was "just ok". On the bright side, all the movies I have seen this year have made it over $700 million WW, and I WILL be going to see Alice2 when on holiday. So $700 million locked [emoji1]
  10. Thanks. So it is doing decently enough? Also happy that AB is doing well. But reckon that Warcraft will just crush everything(?)
  11. There are also things going on regarding the Shanghai resort and rival parks (Wanda) owned by Wang Jianlin, which I believe has larger influence. In addition there is the monthly Fed speculation. So I would not blame Alice for this drop [emoji4]
  12. What I like about First Class (in addition to the emotional aspect) is how nicely they connect X-men to political history. My father was a bit amazed when I showed him how the Cuban missile crisis was solved "in reality" [emoji4]
  13. Well, I find the whole concept of a girl going to wonderland through rabbithole absurd, so I guess absurd plot should be expected. Not sure if the book was amything but absurd (I have read only the first one partially). On a more serious note, if the "plotholes" do not disturb during the movie but afterwards, I think the movie has delivered (don't know how it was in your case). ps. hopefully CR7 and the Special One will be united in Manchester...
  14. I found already two clubs about AIW2, so reckon there is no need to make another if I can just call myself in or out in those clubs. Is there some kind reward/punishment if club succeeds, or is it just for harmless fun?
  15. It will NOT be DOA, goddammit. If I learn how, I will today make a friggin' club how AIW2 will be over $700 WW. No offense to you personally, just annoyed how most of the people here see AIW2 so negatively. And yes, perhaps for a reason ?
  16. Failing in the BO? Where do you see AB ending WW, around $350 million?
  17. Ok, thanks. And with excellent WoM it'll end up in 1B yuan total ?
