Close to $400M WW and same day release on HBO MAX proves the success.... Nobody 'needs' On par w/ 2021 MCU releases.

The comp is off because when F9 was released there were less theaters open as well. There's more theaters open now than May/June

Not sure executives look at it that way.. otherwise WB could have touted the 1st SS as a "billion dollar movie if it hit China" etc..

Right but you could throw in another $100M or so from China and still be well short of what they used to do. For the record, i do believe that Spider-Man will be a huge event film and the 1st to cross $1 billion since 2019.

So are we out of the pandemic yet @VenomXXR ? Because the way i see it another MCU movie is about to do $400M maybe worldwide when the floor used to be $700-800M+

Well there are people who looked at Sony and said "They are out of their element.. give the rights to Marvel" even after Venom did over $800M. There's a lot of opinions out there on many films.. not just MCU ones.

What exactly are you trying to say here? i don't think anyone seriously claimed that the movies aren't coming out.. But there are some challenges that lie ahead. People on here are penciling in Doctor Strange 2 for a $200M+ OW and i don't think it's that simple.. The infinity saga isn't going to be easy to live up to and that's the comparison. Pretty sure nobody brought up DC at all.
