Again I know and a very very very odd one at that. To be 100% honest I considered Boden/Fleck for a while but CM didn’t completely wow me. I could also do 100% Amma Asante as well.

I really like what Knight has done with the Amulet franchise as well as Kubo and will probably be the main director but I also really want a female point of view behind the camera for the franchise.

In hindsight I wonder if Amma Asante would be a better choice.

@cayommagazine Gina Prince-Bythewood to co direct Lesedi: Princess of Power alongside Travis Knight. Noelle Stevenson will remain on board as a producer as her involvement with Hourglass Pictures’ Bounty Hamster franchise is extensive.

I’m using her for an animated film this year. I might just use the latter though I may pull a you and replace Stevenson.

Ignoring Pattinson’s great performance in High Life (Don’t @ me cause it’s true), we shouldn’t judge an actor by their cover. I mean did anyone think Robert Downey Jr. would make a good Iron Man or Gal Gadot a good Wonder Woman?

Just because you love a movie doesn’t mean it’s universally loved and everyone is wrong. Same for hate. It’s different strokes for different folks as well as different circumstances. I expect Aladdin to be a monster in Europe and Japan, solid numbers in LA and Asia and around $250M DOM.

Japan is where the big money from Aladdin, it’s the most famous of Disney’s renaissance films.

China not hyped up for Aladdin doesn’t have anything to do with race. I mean Black Panther did respectable bank there. Live action musicals however tend to be hit or miss there and the only reason BATB did so well was I think the campaign there.

My guess is a gross around Amulet 1/2, $260Mish DOM/$650M-$700M WW for CV1. However, I think it has a chance for Medusa to CYI? numbers.

I have recently had a game plan for a Can You Imagine? trilogy with different stages of Ethan's life and each member of the family having a different focal point.

That’s obviously why but imho, Aladdin wasn’t going to be the one fatal mechanism for success.
