Subdue is the wrong one. Castrate seems more accurate. The only good thing (aside for Will Smith but I’m a Willie fanboy) this had going for it was Ritchie’s energy, it seems lacking with energy. Out of likes but I also agree.

Exactly. When you “try to make it more in depth” (even though the remake will like be 95% the same as the original) in live action, the lose the energy and arguably the sense of wonder of the original animation.

I get passion but try not to get overconsumed by it because too much passion leads to being an overzealous fanboy. I got a little that way over Pikachu. Sometimes it’s best to let it lie. Not to mention Godzilla, like most monster movie are way more walk up based than most blockbusters. And Aladdin has a strong female fanbase and very nostalgia based so presales should be bigger.

Great for John Wick 3, also good for Aladdin, solid for KOTM. Something in my gut tells me you’re going to be annoying about Aladdin these next few weeks.

I like Will Smith singing the songs but my god does it seem like the musical numbers pale to the original due to the limitations of live action.

Aladdin 5/24/19 (9 before previews, 10 before release) North Shore Cinema Mequon, WI  6:00 - 20/301 9:30 - 4/301 Comparisons: 4% ahead of Despicable M3 ($75.3M OW) 8% behind Detective Pikachu ($50.3M OW) 70% behind Incredibles 2 ($54.9M OW) I do think Aladdin will be more walkup based than DP as it skews more towards the female crowd but I don’t like these comparisons but then again it could be due to MDay. My guess is anywhere from $55M-$70M OW/$70M-$90M 4 Day. Either way, tracking is looking eerily close.

I honestly think that’s up for debate as a large part of millennials that grew up with Aladdin are on social media.

I don’t think RT scores will be bad. Something along the lines of Pikachu to BATB seems about right.

Cause that worked well for Pikachu and Poppins. Though I do agree it’s being underpredicted. I still think a $250M/$800M Gross is likely.

That’s not the main version. The main reason was Disney decided to be greedy and thirsty for Disney+ put Aladdin in a spot where not only would they pay more attention to Endgame and TS4 but in trapped in an 8 week box, where there is (assuming Pikachu legs it to $150M) a $150M+ family tentpole every two weeks. Disney could’ve held this off for early 2020 and it would have dominated.

There isn’t a Pokémon Cinematic Universe as Red/Blue were just rumors. The only one in development is DP2. Besides Legendary owns the IP.

Ouch for Pikachu. Then again it was skewing more as male then anticipated.

My guess is: Maleficent with Aladdin Frozen 2 and Onward with TS4 Mulan and Onward/Maleficent with The Lion King Frozen 2 trailer around September/October New Mulan and Onward around Frozen 2

Tom Vaughn-Lawyor (Avengers: Infinity War) will star as the main antagonist, the ruthless Jakal, prince of the hostile Snarks, a war thirsty species of aliens after a formula to convert anti-matter into energy. Jeff Goldblum (Jurassic Park, Thor: Ragnarok) will play Douglas Carmody, head of Carmody Research and boss of James Power, the father of the Powers family and inventor. Known for his cutthroat attitude and utter greed, Carmody won’t hesitate to perfect and ultimately steal Power’s formula.

Besides Disney/Pixar always attach a trailer for their November movie with their June movie. In fact I wouldn’t be surprised if we got trailers for Onward and Frozen II with TS4.

I agree. I just didn’t like one thing in the episode this week. Quality for Season 4 has been good, but for every 4 episodes each week, I have mixed feelings or dislike one. I liked all four episodes but an obvious twist ruined a character for me.
