So what kind of final total are we looking at?? OS total will be in and around 115m as on 21/02/2019 as per Deadline. 80m during the weekend gets the total to 195m. Let's say Alita reaches 2.5x multi in China so that's close to 95m more from the Middle Kingdom. I'm thinking 20m final total from Japan (arbitrary since I have zero clue about Japan's BO mechanics) so that means we can expect around 17m more from there. 2.5x off of this weekend from the rest of the world adds close to 35m to the foreign total. The final OS cume looks something like (195+95+17+35) = 342m. Nao this is an extremely optimistic scenario atm since WoM in China doesn't seem that strong to reach 135m+ while I'm also being very generous with the ROW multiplier because Captain Marvel is bound to cripple the legs in two weeks time. At any rate, 310m still looks doable so that's the target.

The holdover markets accounted for 13.8m assuming China & Japan contributed 63m & 3.2m respectively during the course of the weekend. Last weekend was 56.8m so the weekend drop is 75.7% so that doesn't sound great.

I recently discovered that I'm in love with Bhojpuri movies. I was on a business trip a couple of days ago and I watched a lot of TV as I don't get to watch it at home so I saw 3-4 Bhojpuri movies just to kill some time since the idea seemed amusing at first (Devra Bhail Deewana, Khuni Dangal, Dulara, Jigarwala and two more movies that seemed like Karan Arjun & Singham remakes) but I ended up loving every single one of them. They were all cliched, predictable, kinda sexist but I just fell in love with them. They hit all the familiar beats & tropes of the 90's hindi blockbusters starring Govinda and it was kinda nostalgic for someone like me who grew up watching those Govinda movies.

Good for me since I love the loud, brazen, tone deaf type of slapstick. I wish we'll somehow return to the glory days of the 2000's when there were so many good/great comedies like Phir Hera Pheri, Garaam Masala, Dhaamal, Bhagam Bhaag, Hungama, Golmaal, Dhol, Welcome, Masti, Partner, De Dana Dan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa, Kya Kool Hain Hum etc. Those were the days. Bollywood has stopped making good comedies as far as I'm concerned. I did like Kya Super Kool Hain Hum, Grand Masti & Judwaa 2 tho.

I agree with you but this post made me lol. In any case, it's great that Ritchie is going back to his British crime/gangster caper roots. I hope he knocks this one outta the park.

This Kong is still young (according to the director, Kong isn't an adult yet) so how much will the King grow for the eventual showdown with the 'Zilla??

Sunday drop for THG franchise: THG:CF -50% MJ1 - 50% MJ2 - 48% (44.2-44.5) Million 2nd weekend for FB looks set right now.

Wow, FB's drop is only 12.7%. That's extremely good. After a somewhat muted Wednesday increase, FB is doing better than the THG releases for it's 1st Thursday. THG:CF - 28.1% MJ1 - 24.2% MJ2 - 24.5%

I thought DS was just okay but GotG was too much fun.

Now that we have the actual number from Tuesday, 11 million is a lock on Wednesday.
