  1. My favourite is the MP-40. Used to love that gun in the old Medal of Honor games too.
  2. No kidding. The price of a new game here in Canada is $79.99, roughly 8 times the average price of a movie ticket.
  3. Believe me, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but isn't it a little strange that Deadline is predicting a weirdly high 2nd weekend for Thor and a weirdly low OW for JL? Like, 100-120 for JL? That's ridiculous.
  4. I hope DH2 does well. It looks hilarious! I'll be taking my mom this weekend. I showed her the trailer and I haven't seen her laugh that hard in a LONG time (she's had a tough go of it for awhile so it warmed my heart). I guess the humour isn't for everyone. Come to think of it she really wants to see MOtOE as well. I guess I'll take her to one of these on the weekend and one next Tuesday or something. Next weekend it's JL time!
  5. Well that's kind of what I mean. I don't expect it to open over BvS. It just says something about the state of things that JL is tracking for less. That being said, at this point it shouldn't be about the box office. It's about the quality of their movies and they hit it out of the park with WW. I'm eagerly awaiting JL to see if they can put together a streak here.
  6. Deadline usually under predicts so there has to be something to this. Maybe we really are in for a huge Friday jump. Either way, I need it to be late tonight already so RTH cam come and prove whether Deadline is on to something or not.
  7. It says something about the brand that JL is tracking for a smaller opening weekend than BvS. Still lots of work to do for Warner Bros. and DC, even after WONDER WOMAN.
  8. Yeah that's a bad drop for Thor. People can be snarky about it all they want and assume people are freaking out by saying that, but it's a true statement. Not a great first Wednesday. Hoping for a strong 2nd weekend though, although I doubt it'll hit $60M now.
  9. Makes sense. I always forget that. With box office it seems like the golden rule that everything evens out somehow.
  10. Thanks, as always, for this RTH. Very interesting. Odd, usually CPLX Scotiabank Calgary (Chinook Centre) is up there in the top 5. Then again, it wasn't as busy as I thought it would be on Friday when I saw Thor there.
  11. I'm not freaking out. It's not like I'm suggesting the movie is going to bomb now, or it's disappointing. It was a simple comment. Judging by other non-thanksgiving tebtpoles in the past, I just expected a little bit of a better drop and I was wondering if anyone else agreed. That's all.
  12. Am I the only one who think Thor's Monday number is just a little underwhelming. It's not horrible by any means, I just thought it would drop 65-70%, rather than over 74%.
  13. Exactly what I said to myself! Not that I was necessarily rooting for THOR to finish under IT, just that it's still so amazing how a horror movie can possibly have a bigger OW than the likes of SPIDER-MAN and THOR. Speaks volumes of what an event IT was.
  14. Love it! A horror event if there ever was one. The only other horror movie I've ever seen more than once in the theatre was THE CONJURING 2 last year, and that was really because I was bored the day I saw it a 2nd time and figured what the hell. Can't wait to grab it on blu ray!
  15. Very fun and funny movie! I always worry about the lack of urgency but it goes away when I watch the movie because I can't help but laugh and have a lot of fun. Loved Hulk in this but I especially loved Bruce. He's different in this one. For those who haven't seen it, you'll see.
  16. This is a good point. Movie buffs like constantly track release date changes and stuff like that but a good portion of the the general public certainly could expect a typical Friday opening. A lot of people see posters or trailers and don't really take note of the release date. They just go "Oh Bad Moms 2! I want to see that!".
  17. Yeah I agree. Not cool at all. Come on Disney....
  18. I find it odd that only COCO and POLAROID are opening on that Wednesday before American thanksgiving. Usually there are 3 or 4 pretty high profile releases in that slot. I wonder if this bumps up COCO's 3 and 5 day weekend numbers up considerably. Can it challenger FROZEN for the 3-day Thanksgiving weekend opening of $67.4M?
  19. Almost done the book! 44 pages left to be exact. I will say this. I'm glad I saw the movie first and read the book 2nd. Both are quite different and I don't know how I would have felt seeing the movie had I read the book first. Still love both though! As I said in the spoiler thread, I'd love for them to make a franchise of this and do movies depicting the history of Derry and some of the other happenings that have taken place there every 27 years. There's more than enough material in the book to work from, that's for sure.
