  1. Still boggles my mind how much that film did but not really comparable since it is technically a sequel.
  2. The Batman has a good shot of breaking WB's OW record. $200M OW? Dunno about that yet. It's a reboot remember.
  3. Random guess for the Top 5 are 1. Avatar 2 $2.2B 2. Jurassic World 3 $1.4B 3. Spider-Man 3 $1.25B 4. Thor: Love and Thunder $1.15B 5. The Batman $1.1B The Matrix 4 though could be a darkhorse though. Dunno if Fast and Furious 10 is gonna make the 2021 date.
  4. Coco's DOM still disappoints me somewhat cause of its OW and A+ score. Thank god for China. But yeah hard to gauge interest for an original kids film.
  5. 1. Raya and The Last Dragon 2. Tenet 3. Eternals 4. Soul 5. Black Widow 6. No Time to Die 7. Dune 8. Wonder Woman 1984 9. The French Dispatch 10. Mulan
  6. Without China I think BW gets around $800M-$900M which is still a great performance.
  7. The best part is that he's saying the Academy was ignoring a film like Joker which touches on separation of class and social issues and instead voting for a "woke as" film in Parasite.........when Parasite touches on those same issues and does it much better (IMO of course).
  8. Well if they are the best 10 nominees then why not? But will be decades before that ever happens.
  9. The catagory is "Best Picture" not "Best American Picture". Pretty stupid to exclude other films just cause they aren't Hollywood made. I get your point and in a perfect world everyone voting would see every film and vote. But we don't unfortunately so for now this is the best we can get at the moment. I'd rather some foreign films be recognized than exclude all.
  10. If the Academy members saw Parasite and deemed it the best film they saw for 2019 then why should they not vote for it just cause it isn't American? Ultimately it's more a case of access of these international films. Gonna be hard for a US based organisation to see films especially if they don't have screeners or a release in the US.
  11. Mr Robot Season 4 Rami Malek does his best work as an actor. Anyways the ceremony was much worse than last year though no controversial ones akin to Green Book at least (though I guess that's part of the fun of the Oscars lol).
  12. I had pretty much accepted that 1917 (which was great) was gonna win instead of Parasite. Just made my day this win
  13. Jojo Rabbit wouldn't have been my pick (loved the film though) but so happy for Taika though.
  14. While I would have liked Klaus to win Toy Story 4 was legitimately great so no issue with it winning.
  15. C'mon Parasite. Will be interesting if this year's hostless Oscars works as well as last year dis.
  16. Since we're speaking about personal BO disappointments I still get sad at how badly Winnie the Pooh did. Effectively the last of the Disney Animation 2D films. Harry Potter 9 would be close to a $2 Billion hit IMO unless they used the Cursed Child as the basis for the story.
