  1. They do feel mostly wheel spinning sometimes instead of progressing the story. Exception is Toy Story 4 and oddly Cars 3.
  2. While I disagree I think at least Monster Uni did attempt to do something different from the first one. Dory and Incredibles 2 while well made do feel like rehashes and don't deepen the stories of the first.
  3. I'd be more interested in this show if Disney hadn't doubled down on the Empire vs Rebels conflict so many times.
  4. Fair to say James Gunn prior to GOTG was more known for "edgy" and dark fare than anything family friendly lol. Even Scooby Doo's first cut was R Rated with the MPAA. I agree if he's going to tie himself down to one franchise it would be the DCEU more than the MCU which has more going on atm.
  5. Idk the concept initially intrigued me but maybe the design and animation of the film for some reason felt "un-Pixar" to me. Still though an original Pixar film is still very much something I look forward to and the good reception (while not upper tier) is good news.
  6. Yep has never happened except with Iron Man 3 and it's easy to see how that isn't comparable to Doctor Strange even though it has the coverted May release date.
  7. But I agree an MCU film not reaching $1 Billion is not an underperformance. Just in Spider-Man's case it would definitely be.
  8. Nothing is guaranteed but considering FFH's good legs plus the cliffhanger and the fact the Spider-man franchise still has room to grow when we compare to how the Raimi films did an increase is more likely than not.
  9. Yeah the Ventress/Vos arc would have been EIGHT episodes! The Son of Dathomir stuff too is very important since it explains what happens to Maul between S5 and S7. Plus I always loved when TCW had arcs which primarily focused on the villains. Pretty rare among most tv shows in general.
  10. Ugh Flashpoint is not what a first Flash film needs. I think it'll honestly depend on Matt Reeves' use of the characters. He seems to have been given complete reign over that particular catalogue of characters. Not sure he'd be willing to share unless his trilogy was done.
  11. I wonder why the Bad Batch was chosen in S7 other than say Crystal Crisis on Utapau. Regardless animation looks better than ever.
  12. Spectre was coming off Skyfall hype so I don't think No Time to Die has necessarily greater anticipation. That being said Bond always does great OS so going with $650M OS which is just under Spectre.
  13. Pikachu did decently (unrealistic expectations prior notwithstanding) but it takes more than one movie for there to be a "video game movie crazy".
  14. Instead we get to deal with Nintendo movies made by Illumination. Yay........
  15. Will admit this is one exception I don't mind. Seriously dunno how that design got approved.
  16. Pretty solid fun which is what Suicide Squad should have been. I'm not the biggest fan of Harley Quinn but thought she was good in this despite her being in the lead. And yes more Huntress would be welcome for future films. With alot of these superhero films the MacGuffin is whatever would have liked if they emphasised the connection with Huntress more but I guess they wanted her to be in mystery. Cathy Yan did a good job with the action and the look of the film was good to see. Hopefully she does some more good work in the future.
  17. Already rolling my eyes a little about how for some reason this film is being championed as one "for the fans". I prefer if we don't give the internet that much power over creatives.
  18. Yeah more wishful thinking on my part. Would be happy if the 7th one is around the $850M mark.
  19. Would love it if Mission Impossible 7 broke out somehow to $1 Billion. Asia is all on board this franchise but I still think it has some room to grow DOM.
