Transformers 5's opening week down 32% from T4. The Baby showing who's the Boss in Hollywood eclipsing Fast 8. Pirates now on the seventh spot, might overtake BatB in a week or two.

Hmmm. This will be the biggest Spidey movie, TASM2 was the highest-grossing movie in 2014 with PHP420M+. I guess, 200M+ opening weekend and more than 500M total. There is no competition, 'Apes' is not that big here, Spidey will own the box-office this July.

Wow! Seems like Wonder Woman will be the biggest superhero origin film, after all. Overtaking Deadpool's $783M (w/o China) gross. Though maybe not for long with Spidey already swinging overseas.

Yeah. Did some back reading, GOTG 2 was front loaded. I just don't know the competition after this week, but looking at the Hollywood films to open this month it seems like SM:H will have a good run.

EDIT (upon checking some comparative films. lol): This will do $30M+, definitely the biggest superhero movie this year in the market. Unless Justice League surprises.

Me thinks, Avatar > Titanic > Frozen. WW might be in the Top 20 awesome runs (haven't thought over this. lol) after all this is over.

Europe is still one of the biggest bloc in the world. Though economy might be stagnant its box office share is still bigger than Latin America, ME, Africa, South East Asia/Australia. Superhero movies might not be as big there as some parts of the world, it still contributes big in the films total gross and has a say whether the movie a worldwide smash hit or not. Saying that its not important is just wrong.

Idk with you guys, but Aquaman is popular here in the Philippines. He's the male version of Ariel for fudge sake. Lol. Seriously tho, CB superheroes are very well known here. At least, the Justice League, X-Men, Spider-Man, The Hulk, part of our childhood. Especially during the 90s and early 2000s. Plus they are arcade staples. Mangas and animes are very popular here as well.

Unfortunately, none. Lol. Though local distributors (especially from ABS-CBN), usually discloses the grosses of their biggest films of the year in the Annual Financial Reports. Hopefully, the plan of Film Development Council of the Philippines for movie distributors to disclose box office results pushes through. Just a thought, we can also use the exchange rate on the day of disclosure on BOM or the-numbers.com.

It's at $10.5M. Though, I prefer a lc data. 1. BatB 2. CA:CW 3. AoU 4. Iron Man 3 5. The Avengers All the Top 5 movies grossed 600M+. WW and BvS and a couple of local films (Super Parental Guardians and Beauty and the Bestie) seems to be the only other films that grossed above 500M.

Speaking of Sweet 20, the Philippines will also have a version of Miss Granny, the Korean original.

I think Japan won't be able to push Pirates 5 to 800M+ WW gross. It opened below the fourth film in admission even with the Discount Day boost. Maybe a 5.5M admissions ceiling or $65M-$70 total gross. Let's see how this holds next weekend.

YAY!!!! Wonder Woman already topped BvS!!!!

Though DM3 was number one since Sunday, it is trailing well behind DM2 and Minions, like most of the world. While Wonder Woman already overtook Man of Steel's total gross. Hopefully it still have enough left to top BvS'.

Transformers 5 debuted with 274,792 admissions, flat compared to Age of Extinction. Though still quite a disappointment as it opened in the fest. Transformers 3 also had its debut in Féte with 337,853 admissions. Ice Age 3 holds the record on a 767,099 tix sold when it opened during the fest in 2009.
