Very happy that Jumanji is doing so well, hope it does 300M+ DOM and 800+ WW. I saw it today and liked it even more than the 2017 one. This is the funniest role Rock has done in his life. Kevin Hart is also a hoot. Special mention to Smouldering Danny Devito as well .

Biggest hurdle for Dabangg 3 will be the release of Good Newwz on 27 Dec. I think that will open very well considering Akshay Kumar is on a roll this year, plus it has a very appealing cast and trailer. I have no doubt overall Dabangg 3 will open bigger but GN may do more business at the end of it's run.

Housefull 4 Is Fantastic On Wednesday Housefull 4 continues with fantastic collections at the box office with 15-16 crore nett expected to come on Wednesday. The film has seen extraordinary collections in UP which are not far off the figures on Monday which was a national holiday which will mean a fantastic total for Delhi / UP circuit. Gujarat / Saurashtra is simply running riot as the circuit looked to be heading for a 15% drop from record levels of business. The six day collections of the film are around 124 crore nett plus and the week could finish around 135 crore nett. The Gujarat / Saurashtra circuit could be around 4 crore nett which is simply insane number. The business is rock steady in Rajasthan and CI at very high levels. There has been a drop in Mumbai, Pune and Bangalore of around 40-45% but its coming of a holiday period and there is a 20-25% drop in ticket rates to factor in here as well. So the drop in these places is actually not bad if we take the footfalls. This is much maligned film which was practically written off and called a flop on release is now doing over 15 crore nett business on its sixth day and that pretty much says it all. A film like Saand Ki Aankh which is a so called content film which the media is favoring has dropped more than Housefull 4 on day six so despite being the widest release and far higher collections it is even trending better than the competition on day six. War Sets Box Office On Fire On Day One War (Hindi) created history by collecting the highest first day figure of all time. The film collected a huge 51.50 crore nett ap[prx on day one which smashed the records of Thugs of Hindostan which set a record on Diwali last year. There was new highs across the board as it sert new circuit highs in practically all circuits. The highlight was Delhi / UP and East Punjab as the latter crossed 5 crore nett and Delhi / UP went to almost 11 crore nett. No other film has even crossed 10 crore nett in the circuit.Gujarat / Saurashtra was also a new record in the new tax regime as the taxes are up in tis circuit compared to the time of Entertainment tax. The single screen numbers are crazy as it was practically housefull all day across UP. Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. It is easily the biggest opening day ever for Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff and has doubled the numbers of their previous bests. Also the film was only released in 3850 screens in Hindi due to the competition which is low count for such a big film as it could have went to 4700 or 4800 if it was a normal release and you can easily give 5 crore for these screens. Now it is about at what levels the film will hold over the next few days as there will be drops coming of these huge holiday numbers. War Is Historic On Day One War created history as it collected the highest first day in history of around 50 crore nett. The film beat the numbers of Thugs Of Hindostan by around 2 crore nett despite being released on far lesser screens. War was released on around 3800 plus screens in Hindi. The 50 crore nett apprx apprx are for the Hindi version and the regional versions would have added a little more. The film could have done 55 crore nett if there was no competition from other releases. Its a huge start from the film across the country though collections were hit in South by Syeraa Narasimha Reddy and Gujarat has Navratri. Looking at Dream Girl reviews, seems to me this is another sureshot hit and a potential 100cr+ grosser. Even though Sahoo flopped overall, it's Hindi version is a hit and with Dream Girl, it's going to be 5 hits in 1 month since Aug 15 releases. Bollywood on a roll but too bad Sunny Deol son's launchpad is going to be a disaster.

All India Top Twenty Opening Days - Saaho 2nd Saaho recorded the second highest collections of all time behind Bahubali - The Conclusion as it picked up around 87 crore nett apprx on day one across India. The film did best In Nizam / Andhra with 49 crore nett (including Marathwada and Hindi prints) while Hindi circuits contributed 22.25 crore nett without Marathawada and Hindi in South) and Karntaka / Mysore was 10 crore nett. Tamil Nadu and Kerala did not perform with 3 crore nett and 1 crore nett respectively. Then there is around 1.75 crore apprx total of regional versions in Hindi circuits for an all India total of 87 crore nett. The GROSS collections will be around 99-100 crore. Chal Mera Putt is now the highest grossing Punjabi movie OS. BOI Article :- Chal Mere Putt is the all time highest Punjabi grosser in Overseas as it beat the figures of Chaar Sahibzaade. The film will gross around £400k in United Kingdom which has never happened for the regular Punjabi film. Only Chaar Sahibzaade did almost £800k as it was a religious film. The regular Punjabi films dont touch £300k in United Kingdom. In Gulf it has taken Punjabi films to a new level as it looks for a $300k finish and crossed the 1 million dhiram mark which is unheard of Punjabi films. This is the huge plus for the film, the film had Pakistani artists in leading roles which has probably accounted for the huge numbers in UK and Gulf. Overall this summer has seen 3 huge Punjabi grossers overseas with Chal Mere Putt, Ardaas Karaan and Shadaa all setting huge benchmarks and expanding the markets. The downer is that beside Shadaa the other two did ordinary business in India which is reflected in the worldwide business of the three. Shadaa is at 52.50 crore while Ardaas Karaan is at 31.25 crore and Chal Mere Putt stands at almost 30 crore. Saaho Premiers : Shockingly low premiers on cards Prabhas starrer Saaho is undoubtedly the most anticipated film of season. As this is Prabhas’ immediate film after Baahubali, which set a new benchmark in overseas, trade circles have been expecting a solid start. Given the hype and hysteria among audience, Saaho should canter to $ 1 million mark without much difficulty. However, the current bookings in overseas suggest a disappointing start. As of this writing, the advance sales for Telugu version are quite moderate( $ 300K – $350K range ) and other languages are trivial. As Telugu360 reported earlier, the exorbitant ticket pricing and poor planning are the main reasons for this shockingly low response from audience. After the extravagant trailers evoked a striking response, it is expected that the film will take a mind-blowing start on its premiers day. But the strategy of high ticket pricing for Tamil and Hindi versions on par with Telugu version are proving to be a costly mistake for Saaho. At this rate, the film might find it difficult to surpass non – Baahubali films like Khaidi No 150, Agnyathavaasi, Spyder etc. Anything less than $ 1 Million gross from premiers will be a not-so-impressive start for Saaho as a lot of money is at stake in overseas circuit. I saw both Mission Mangal and Batla House. I prefer BH but last 30 mins of MM are goosebumps inducing. Overall my rating, MM - 6/10, BH - 7.5/10. At the BO, Mission Mangal is the clear winner and will probably do ~150cr lifetime. Very good numbers for a movie that costs only 32cr excluding Akshay's remuneration. I hope BH can do close to Satyamev Jayate lifetime numbers because unlike SJ, this movie deserves to be a hit.
