  1. Chris Rock even stuck his head forward as if he was anticipating a slap.
  2. The Trend Remains UP For The Kashmir Files The Kashmir Files continues its upward trend on Wednesday and another 18-19 crore nett looks on the cards if not higher. There is growth again in the morning and afternoon shows again against the Tuesday numbers. There is potential to grow in shows in the morning while in the evening it gets less as shows have been going house full generally since Sunday. The six day number of the film be around the 78 crore nett and the first week will be finish in the 95-100 crore nett. This near 100 crore nett week will be coming from a 3.25 crore nett starting point which is out of this world. Basically the week is ending at around 30 times its opening day and only god knows how many times the lifetime business will go. The Kashmir Files is doing the unthinkable as no one could ever think a film could behave like this in the multiplex era and at collections at these levels. It will notch up a first week near 100 crore nett and the better collections will be to come. Normally you are waiting for films to stabilise the dropping collections and here it will be where do collections stabilise on the higher side and then start to come down, only then you can get an idea where the film will be going. At the moment its just rising collections and history set to be created. https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=6747
  3. The Kashmir Files is probably giving Akshay Kumar some nightmares as well because in all probability this will do more in its 2nd weekend than Bachchan Pandey in 1st and then RRR is releasing the weekend after. TKM is likely going to be the most unique BO run in the history of Indian Cinema.
  4. All this points towards how Putin has grossly miscalculated this operation. Hopefully Ukraine can hold them off long enough that these sanctions create murmurs of discontent within Russia. One more point here is a lot of innocent Russian people who have nothing to do with this war are going to feel the effects of economy crashing.
  5. Spiderman - No Way Home Records Strong Second Weekend Spiderman No Way Home had a strong second weekend almost 27 crore nett in its second weekend which is the second best second weekend post the pandemic after Sooryavanshi and the film has now hit the 175 crore nett mark and it should hit 200 crore nett in its third weekend. These are very good numbers for the second weekend as it lost more than 50% of its showcasing at major multiplexes due to the release of 83. The film has outperformed in the South but all Hindi circuits have done well and the biggest result will be in the North as both Delhi / UP and East Punjab surpass the numbers of Sooryavanshi. Spiderman - No Way Home has also become the first film cross the $1 billion mark worldwide post pandemic and the film is still running strong across mark. The film has done almost $470 million in its home market of US / Canada and may finish among the top three grossers of all time in North America. The top five finish is a certainty as the film brings the US box office back to life. The business of Spiderman - No Way Home till date is as follows. Thursday - 32,75,00,000 apprx Friday - 20,00,00,000 apprx Saturday - 26,25,00,000 apprx Sunday - 29,00,00,000 apprx Monday - 12,25,00,000 apprx Tuesday - 10,50,00,000 apprx Wednesday - 8,50,00,000 apprx Thursday - 8,50,00,000 apprx Week One - 1,47,75,00,000 apprx Friday - 6,75,00,000 apprx Saturday - 10,00,00,000 apprx Sunday - 10,00,00,000 apprx Second Weekend - 26,75,00,000 apprx TOTAL - 1,74,50,00,000 apprx https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=6574
  6. 83 Heads For Very Poor Fate 83 is heading for a very poor fate as the first day collections come in lower than expected with awful collections in UP and Maharashtra but the bigger problem is the limited growth on Xmas Day. The film should have grown 60-70% but it maybe limited to around 40-50% which is far too low. This will mean a two day number of around 28-30 crore nett in hindi as day one is only 12 crore nett apprx and Xmas Day alone had to be doing around 25 crore nett for the film to have a chance of success. This film had a lot of hope pinned onto it by the industry but it seems to have gone wrong badly. The mass pockets are still not able to grow much on Saturday which is a national holiday. There are a couple of states with more restrictions than day one but Spiderman and Pushpa seem to be showing normal trajectory so the problem seems to be more the actual film here with 83. Spiderman and Pushpa continue to do well and its is 83 showing far more space capacity which will lead to showcasing changes in time. https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=6565
  7. Spiderman No Way Home Advance Rampage Continues Spiderman No Way Home continued its rampage at the advance counters overnight as the 24h hour advance of the film is looking to be in the range of Avengers - Infinty War released in 2018. It is not exactly 24h hours as some cinemas especially in the South had opened a week earlier but the for the general advance only opened on Sunday. In the first 24 hours of advance opening, Infinity War had collected around 9.50 crore nett across India and went on do advance sales of around 29 crore nett before release. The advance here also opened on a Sunday like Infinity War. The results for Spiderman - No Way Home look to be slightly ahead in terms of collection so it will be around 10 crore nett plus in 24 hours and similar in terms of tickets sold. This is a four day advance for Spiderman and three day advance for Infinity War. The first day advances are actually higher for Spiderman while the other three days are less than the two days of Infinity War. Initially only a few of the Imax properties and bigger properties opened up in the metros and these handfull of cinemas racked up 50 lakhs nett in no time. The biggest advance till date is Avengers Endgame with around 50 crore nett advance sales before release and although that will be out of range, a total of around 30 crore nett similar to Infinity War is possible. It will have one day less to do as its a Thursday release so maybe a lower number is more realistic but when there is momentum anything is possible so it can do in four days what Infinity War did in five days. The advance for the first day is just extraordinary even though its a Thursday and if this was 2019 it would be looking at a potential 30 crore nett plus day one but this is 2021 and it is a bit different now. The bigger Hollywood films are seeing stronger advances and less current post the pandemic and this has been there for every Hollywood film which has shown some collections. If current sales behave even close to like what they did in 2019 then 30 crore nett will be on. It will be no surprise if a 15 crore nett day one total is covered in the advance alone. There is competition from Pushpa in Andhra but Infinity War only did 2 crore nett in Nizam / Andhra and Spiderman No Way Home should do that much even with Pushpa around. There are these so called pan India films today like Pushpa, 83 and RRR as they release in multiple languages but the real pan India films are big Hollywood films as they do the business in all circuits. The rest are by just name and barring some exceptions which have branding they will either do good in Hindi circuits or in South but very unlikley to cross the barriers. https://www.boxofficeindia.com/report-details.php?articleid=6518
  8. Ramayan has always been more popular than Mahabharat. I assume it'll get even more viewership tomorrow because Kishkindhaa Kanda is going to start and all the kandas from now on are really really popular as Hanumanji will be featured heavily from now on.
  9. It's a bit of a shame Lionsgate opted to promote Bombshell instead of Knives Out for awards considering how big of a smash hit this has been. Bombshell will actually end up as a flop I think. Reviews for this one are also infinitely better. If promoted well this could have won at least some Ensemble awards.
  10. Happy New Year to each and every member of BOT who's a better B.O expert than Scott Mendelson
  11. Akshay had always given hits, but it's just that he gave hits and flops in patches. still remember his 2006-07 phase where he gave 5 hits in a row, then in 2012 again, he gave 3 or 4 hits. In 2009 he had 5 flops in a row. In 1994, he did 12 movies in a single year and 7 of those were hits. It's just over the last 3-4 years, he has become more consistent and now he's also giving 200cr grossers. Next year, he has 5 releases again, guy is a machine.
  12. Most of the others are correct. I don't understand the need to point stuff like this out, if you don't believe in his numbers just wait for the studio estimates.

  14. Saw this in one go. Absolutely loved it. Can't wait for Season 2. Henry Cavill is obviously standout but the actress who plays Yennifer is also great. Can't believe the reviews for this are mixed/negative. Anyway this will be a massive success for Netflix. Bring on S2.
  15. I don't know how it'll do DOM but it's OS prospect don't look that good to me, it's Paris opening was -18% TLJ and Italy was -10%. We already knew China won't perform for this one so no surprises it'll wrap b/w 25-30M there. Think it'll end up b/w TS4 and CM on the WW chart for 2019.
