  1. Gotta be honest, I was expecting a better poster with at least some the characters on it. It doesn't look ugly but you'd think they'd show off the characters that'll be in this movie. A lot of movie posters these days have gotten lackluster, I just wish studio's would let the their movie posters look somewhat more artistic more often instead of just slapping a bunch of floating heads or photoshopping the actors in and calling it a day So far the trailer and first poster have leaned a bit too heavily on Hogwarts for my tastes. The next trailer better reveal more about the movies plot and there better make a posters with actual characters on it within the next couple of months.
  2. Doing another Matrix movie just like making another Suicide Squad movie was always going to be a risk. Maybe WB felt they owed Lana Wachowski enough to allow her to make at least one more Matrix movie, and if it ended up getting people talking then they could start that franchise up again for the long term. From just my brief observations surrounding this movie it feels similar to James Gunns "The Suicide Squad", in that WB seemingly allowed Lana Wachowski make the movie she wanted to make with little studio interference regardless of the uncertain box office potential. I guess we'll just have to see how they respond to this movies preformance.
  3. Wow damn never every big movie coming out in April 2022 has released a trailer at this point, Sonic 2, Fantastic Beasts 3, and now this. I'm just curious to see if the full theatrical for movies next year will remain or if something else will pop off that will cause these studios to shift gears again.
  4. The movie will likely need to make over 400 mil ww to be considered profitable. I've said it before but I don't think this movie is going to bomb horribly, but I do think it will go down from the previous movies gross of 650 to between 400 and 500 mil. But like someone else said if all else fails they can just release the next movie as an HBO max exclusive.
  5. The damn Depp stans have gotten so fucking annoying, all those #bringbackjonnydepp hastag nonsense I keep seeing under FB post across social media is so redundant and pointless. Look, Depps situation with Heard was/is real messy and Warner Brothers just didn't feel like dealing with that press anymore so thats why they decided to let him go. Regardless how the situation was handled that shit has been done and over with for a year now, his "fans" constantly commenting "#bringbackjohnnydepp" on HP and FB social media posts has gotten redundant and wont do jack shit. Pretty sure Depp has moved on and isn't calling for people to harass the actors or even the studio, so these fans need to chill tf and go outside to get some fresh air. I'm don't blame Mikkelsen for deactivating his Instagram; similar but on a different level stuff happened to people like Kelly Marie Tran and Daisy Ridley when fans kept harassing and complaining to them about their issues with the recent trilogy on the social media accounts like the shit was their fault.
  6. I think this Matrix movie being mixed might not be as big of a deal breaker as you're suggesting. This doesn't seem like a movie thats a "turn off your brain and enjoy" type of experience, so if the reactions are mixed then to me that signals different people just took away different interpretations/ideas from it and it actually provoked people to think about what the movie is trying to convey We'll just have to see if audiences are willing come out for that type of experience. Spiderman No Way Home was always going to dig into the profits for this, but who knows it might serve as good counter programing.
  7. The fact she's even going to see it a 2nd time is/could be a good sign. If it was bad she likely wouldn't have even mentioned this.
  8. @TheBigYawn Oh wow, I thought your username and avatar looked familiar. Welcome back! How have you been?
  9. Like I said the trailer doesn't look that bad, but the trailers for the last movie were pretty good too. In general Warner Brothers has been putting out solid trailers these past few years despite the quality of the movies themselves. Of course some of my reservations still remain; the awkward title is still awkward, them still mixing fun magical creature escapades with grim dark prequel shenanigans continues to disappoint me, a lot of characters running around who haven't gotten much development and oftentimes feel like they're being dragged by the plot instead of creating it. And you know, coming from someone who kinda sorta likes these movies, they lack heart. I totally get where some people are coming from when they say "I don't care about these characters or these movies" because in my opinion they've not done a great job endearing us to the characters. These movies have gotten too big for their own good when they should've stayed relatively smaller scale like the first one.
  10. If you have the YouTube enhancer browser extension enabled it shows the amount of dislikes on a video, although I imagine most dont have that so regardless it wont show the amount of dislikes on a trailer. And yeah I don't remember the last time a trailer had a whole bunch of dislikes or maybe I just wasn't paying enough attention.
  11. We're all allowed to have dissenting opinions, but people should at least try and not express those opinions in the exact same way every time. Putting variety in your/our statements should be encouraged and lead to better discussions than just saying "lol this is gonna suck" every time a topic you personally dislike is brought up, even if thats how you feel.
  12. Yeah I've seen a fair amount of people predicting this making over a billion and every time I go "really?". Don't get me wrong I do think this will get good reception and do good box office wise but there seems to be some overestimation going on. Part of the reason I think it wont be a huge breakout is because I don't think the general audience is super sold on Pattinson yet, he's been getting praise among critics and film buffs for the smaller works he's been in but as it seems that he's still seen as "the twilight kid" by a lot of people, fair or not. Also I'm not sure if online hype for The Batman will equal to general audience hype for another batman movie
  13. Same issues I have as well, I've said it before that Credence is the character I care the least about and he should've stayed dead in the first one, and I think most people feel the same way about the Dumbledore family drama too it's just a bit too soap opera-y for my tastes.
  14. Looks like we read the same thing. It sucks that Waterston got covid and I'm glad she's recovered enough to do some reshoots, I hope these reshoots have her character in the movie more. She barely had anything to do in the last movie so hopefully they can fit her into some key scenes so she can still be involved in the story somewhat I almost forgot that her character and Queenie are supposed to be sisters and yet they didn't share one scene in the last movie and might not share a scene in this one either, guess we'll see what happens.
  15. It was never really confirmed, but many people suspected that Katherine Waterston got covid during filming which led to her role in the film being significantly reduced. From the bits and pieces I've heard/read about the movie thus far her character was barely in it which kinda supports that suspicion ,especially if you're one of the people that read the "leak" that was posted her a couple of weeks ago. If these reshoots are partially include Waterston in more scenes then cool.
  16. I remember hearing/reading awhile back similar things to what you're saying; that the main character wasn't as likeable or compelling as they originally thought so they delayed it to improve on his scenes/the script overall. I'm curious to see how this turns out as I remember seeing the first trailer way back last year and thought it looked interesting, and this is coming from someone who's seen neither of the Kingsmen movies.
  17. Its coming this month for sure, probably close to when Matrix Ressurections comes out.
  18. I've been saying for a while that WB knows the state in which this series is in which is why they've been playing things close to their chest, hell I would do the same thing. I'd rather they at least try and play it safe instead of being overconfident; try and patch things up as much as possible before showing stuff off.
  19. Not surprising, it's still just a bit too early to release a trailer. I'm willing to bet the first trailer will release in the next few weeks either on December 15th (exactly 4 months from films release) or just a few days before Matrix Resurrection's comes out so they can start playing the trailer in the theaters in front of other movies.
  20. The google translate I did with that Japanese event/promotion gave me this It seems like there was some kind of contest and a bunch of people were chosen to go to this event that will be happening Wednesday evening (Tokyo time). It's definitely some kind of promotional event but I've not read anything about such an event taking place in the US yet. It's very likely they're showcasing a trailer at this event, although just because the people are this event may see a trailer doesn't mean we'll see one here in the states that same day/date either we'll get something on the December 1st or the middle of December.
  21. I actually somewhat disagree with your opinion that this needs to be a soaring success; in the past year I think WB has shown willingness to adjust their expectations and adapt to the times, as demonstrated with the bold movie to put their whole 2021 slate in both theaters and HBO simultaneously instead of sticking with purely theatrical releases for this year. I think they're aware of the precarious situation this franchise is currently in and don't expect this to be a huge success and I personally believe/predict that this will pull decent numbers. A fourth film isn't entirely out of the question and they have HBO Max now, so if all else fails they could make the fourth one and just have it be an exclusive on there. With Netflix willing to shell out 200 mil for Red Notice it certainly wouldn't be all that strange for have an 100+ mil movie made exclusively for streaming/HBO max specifically.
  22. Potter is still pretty beloved overseas and plenty of people will still go see/buy anything in that world to get their fix. Also online anticipation/discourse ≠ real life anticipation/discourse, we on the internet tend to both overestimate and underestimate how well something is received by the general public so its anyone's guess really.
  23. https://twitter.com/vieweranon?lang=en lol looks like Viewer Anon deleted his twitter account again and deleted that plot leak document on the website it was posted on. Guess it was fun while it lasted though I imagine some people managed to save/take a screenshot of that document.
  24. Nothing is gonna happen to Viewer Anon, what he did isn't trending on twitter or anywhere else for that matter and I'm 99% sure Rowling or anybody else important wont see or care about him leaking a plot. I just feel like it was just a poor attempt to have a "gotcha" moment, if you really want to stick it to her then maybe donate to a charity for the people you believe she opposes. Do something actually useful instead of petty shit just to make you feel smug, but I guess that's twitter for you.
