  1. LOL and even more reviews are going to be dropping tomorrow, a day before the movie official releases.
  2. You're exactly right, he's been getting that franchise money for 6+ years now and you'd think he just be chill and continue getting those checks but nah he does dumb shit like this. It's crazy how many celebrities/performers I've seen in the past few years fumble the bag; just keep it low key and get paid. It's not that hard.
  3. At least The Flash doesn't come out for a while but this may pop back up again next year when the press tour hits. Does this guy have legit mental issues? I honestly feel like he has some kind of issue he needs to deal with. I do not envy WB right now, although I think this news will get drowned out by all the Will Smith and Chris Rock stuff.
  4. This news affects The Flash movie moreso than Fantastic Beasts, at least in this movie he isn't the main character whereas he is the main character in The Flash.
  5. Do you guys think the Oscars should just have it's own streaming service and do the whole show on there instead of on live tv? Apparently the ratings for this years Oscars were not good, so I feel they just need to accept that the Oscars have become a niche thing. It doesn't seem to really appeal to the casual viewer anymore, and even if they tried to nominate some popular blockbuster/comic book movie it's not going to suddenly turn the casuals into Oscar fans. I'm all for trying to change things up and improve upon stuff, but sometimes we have to accept that not all content will appeal to everybody. We all have shows we can recommend to people and believe our friends will enjoy, but at the same time we all watch some shows that we personally enjoy but know very well they're not for everyone. And that is what I feel the Oscars have become. I'm of the opinion they should just put the Oscars on it's own streaming service alongside all the nominated stuff and just stay in its own lane, maybe it's not realistic but thats just my idea of how they could proceed. I mean they can tighten the show up and pull out as many tricks as they want, but if someone isn't a fan of the program then there's not much they can do to suddenly changer their mind. Stick with the fans you got and let everybody else know the day after what won and lost over social media.
  6. I still think this movie will get over 100 domestic and make between 400-500 ww, although at a slower rate than The Batman, which is already past 600 ww in just three weeks if I'm correct.
  7. Me taking a peak at all the foolishness that went down tonight and on this topic.
  8. RT score from 64 to around 78%. The movie looks rather goofy (in a good way) but I imagine the people who aren't super into the Sonic games wont be as excited about it as the fans.
  9. Eh, agree to disagree on that. I'd prefer any franchise to keep trying new things with new characters instead of recycling plots and old characters all the time, because if they keep doing that then yall gonna end complaining "why are they always doing the same thing? Why don't they do something different?" just like Star Wars fans are doing these days.
  10. So uh, does anyone think this movie will actually get a sequel? Hypothetically, lets say that this movie actually manages to make a somewhat decent amount of money despite poor reviews, would Sony decide "you know what? lets do one more" or "we'll keep the Morbius character around and maybe have him pop up in the next Venom movie". Or maybe this movie just doesn't do well at all and they just chalk it up as being a failed experiment. I do wonder how this movie would have done had they just either released it back in summer of 2020 as originally planned or just put it on some streaming service.
  11. Harry Potter is still very much alive, it still has multiple theme parks and a big ass merch store that opened last year in New York. If you're just looking at the FB series and JK Rowlings foolishness and thinking "wow HP is dead" then it seems like your simply missing for the forest for the trees. Now I'll grant you that the brand atm is very singular compared to other franchise; just been books and movies thus far. There is that Hogwarts Legacy video game coming out soon which looks promising, and maybe we'll start getting more projects that aren't just solely made by the crew from the OG series.
  12. I'm putting my money on Morbius. I do find it hilarious that it's opening up on April fools day, what a release date lol
  13. A few more early reactions from a screening that apparently happened a day ago in the UK. I looked up each individual twitter account and they all seem legit. Sony does it again 🤣
  14. That has to be wrong. I've heard/read nothing about this being more than about 2 hours and 10 minutes, which is around the runtime of the previous 2 movies. The leak script also read as a 120 something minute movie as well. Aren't the credits counted as part of the runtime of a movie? So in actuality the movie itself is likely around 2hrs and 8 minutes before the credits roll.
  15. I'm more inclined to blame the writing instead of just solely the actors, they weren't exactly in too many well written scenes together. Its funny because I've seen Eddie Redmayne and Katherine Waterston in interviews together and they actually have a good repour, it's just the writing and directing hasn't helped to show that on screen. I think most people liked him and Dan Fogler together during the first Fantastic Beasts movie. I also think it was kinda the point that him and Felicity Jones characters in The Theory of Everything weren't great lovers because apparently it was kinda like that between Stephen Hawking and his wife in real life.
  16. Tbh I always did the same thing whenever I went to watch a movie. When I get my food I wanna start eating it as soon as I sit down.
  17. One thing I'm sure of is that all the reactions/reviews will be positive about Mads Mikkelsen, which will keep the score up. Also with this having a more discernable throughline/plot in addition more action scenes spread throughout I can see people saying it's better paced and easier to sit through than than Crimes of Grindelwald. I'm predicting between a 50-65% RT score with audience scores around 70 and up. I can see the critical consensus being something like "While still containing flaws found in the previous installments, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is an improvement over it's predecessor and manages to create a few sparks of magic" or something along those lines.
  18. There is a franchise/series called "How to Train your Dragon" and people loved those. Also these are literally titled Fantastic Beasts, and thats what I (and most other people) expected these movies to be all about, not some weird backdoor pilot to a HP prequel. And how many movies a year do we get which are basically "protagonist(s) go on quest for a object/person"? Any premise can be made fun/interesting if enough thought and time is put into it.
  19. They still haven't given a decent explanation why he's working with Dumbledore. In the first movie he was doing his own thing and just happened to come across Grindelwald, even in the sequel he was kinda doing his own thing and just came upon Grindelwald. He should've been like Indiana Jones; getting offered jobs to protect/capture a magical creature from different parts of the world and having to fight off crazy wizards and muggles while doing so. Newt is an underwritten character which sucks because I feel he has potential to grow, but they for some reason switched gears and made these movies all about Dumbledore when they original started out with Newt and his new American friends.
  20. What helps any comic book movie, or any blockbuster for that matter, to have staying power is the fun factor. The Venom movies did so well because they went all in on the dumb fun whereas Morbius does not seem to have that going for it. It might have some entertaining bits but to me it doesn't look like something that would appeal to everybody, just feels like something that has a more niche instead of broad appeal.
  21. It's crazy that now I've celebrated two damn birthdays in a pandemic. I mean I usually never do anything on my birthdays other than eat junk food and chill at home but still. The pandemic has been going on for so long that I can still use this meme and have it not be outdated.
  22. Yeah it's weird how I've seen some people act like the first movie wasn't a success. Most people thought it was alright to good, a movie doesn't make over 800 mil unless most people enjoyed it.
