  1. I think this film will have about the same opening weekend as Morbius, between 38 to 44 domestic, but unlike Morbius this won't have a big drop-off on it's 2nd weekend. I think it will keep steady momentum going, plus it has a couple weeks of breathing room before May hits.
  2. Some fans will consume every piece of content from particular franchise whereas others consume on a case by case basis. I consider myself to be a pretty big Star Wars fan and I've not even watched the Boba Fett show yet, I'll get to it eventually but I just never felt the urge to see it right away. A lot of people have a "What have you done for me lately?" mentality when it comes to the content they watch. If they don't like the direction something is going they tap out....until it gets good again then they'll be back. After all the hullabaloo The Last Jedi caused you'd think the next movie would've flopped, and yet fans still went to go see Rise of Skywalker. People can be real fickle.
  3. Do you really think the average viewer cares much about that? It was over a year and a half ago when they released him. He's gone and got paid millions of dollars on the way out, he is not suffering from being kicked from this movie nor will this movie suffer because he's not in it, stop with this nonsense.
  4. Looking just at just the Top Critic Reviews it's evenly split between fresh and rotten so it'll be going back and forth for a little bit, but the more small time regular critics seemed to like it alright which leads me to believe this will end up around a 63% with an audience score of 85% and higher.
  5. This movie has a 45 day theatrical window like other WB movies this year then it goes to HBO Max.
  6. Many American critics have already seen it and a fair amount thought it was alright. Usually after about 20 or 30 reviews RT scores tend to stabilize, Sonic 2 has remained at around a 63% for the past few days with more reviews currently being added, so I don't see there being any drastic shifts in this movies score
  7. I haven't watched the show yet but I thought this was funny
  8. It's funny to me that both this movie and Sonic 2 may end up getting the exact same RT score, hell I'll be bold and say I could see this going up a few more percentages when more reviews come in. Lets not forget that Crimes of Grindelwald got a score in the mid 30s, so this movie getting over a fresh score is a sign of progress, maybe not huge progress but it still counts for something. I figure the audience score will be in the 80s and 90s which will help this film have better legs than people have been expecting.
  9. A movie can have a lot of characters but its all about how they're balanced. Infinity War and Endgame had a shit ton of characters to follow but I was never confused about who was doing what and why. If I'm going to be following a large cast of characters then all of them need to be involved in the same plot, otherwise it'll just be a bunch of people running around doing stuff which is what TCOG was, there was no strong throughline tying everything together in that movie. It seems that they've fixed that in this third one so thats a good sign.
  10. https://deadline.com/2021/08/harry-potter-fantastic-beasts-david-yates-sony-next-project-1234816953/ Yeah the news about David Yates working on another project came out in August of last year. It definitely feels like WB is going to wait and see how this third film does before they decide to do part 4 and 5. They may decide to either cancel the series or get a new creative team on board; personally I hope its the latter because god damn they need to get somebody new to make Potter content. Yates has been in this franchise for a while and I'd be surprised if he's not at least a little tired of Potter by now. Even if the money's good at a certain point any director would be like "I have to do something else".
  11. A 60 something on rotten tomatoes is pretty much a lukewarm rating. The thing is, it's not that hard to get above a 60%, the recent Death on the Nile movie has a 63% with an average critic rating of 5.9/10, which is what most of these reactions to this movie are reading as to me. It feels like we're just splitting hairs at the moment, but I still think there will be more positive than negative reactions/reviews this time around.
  12. Wow is this movie really coming out in a few months? I've barely heard anything about it in a while. So where's the trailer? If it's really coming out in July then a trailer should be releasing sometime this month.
  13. Starting to feel like it. It may not open huge but I think the legs on this will be solid, has two weeks to itself then Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness comes out and even then it will keep hanging around. And tbh I don't think Sonic 2 will be as big of a competitor as some may think. It has a lower bar to clear to be considered profitable since it only costs 110 for sure, but ultimately I see FB3 overtaking it world wide simply because it's more established in the foreign markets.
  14. Well a good amount of the reactions posted thus far have been from actual critics/verified RT reviewers, not just super fans.
  15. WB's indecisiveness regarding what story they want to tell is the real problem (as evidenced by the last films titles). I've seen people say they want a purely Fantastic Beasts centered series and others wanting it to be about Dumbledore and Grindelwald. Either concepts could work, but for some reason they were convinced they could do both at the same time within the same movie(s) with varying results thus far.
  16. I've read multiple reviews/reactions saying the same thing, also that it takes itself too seriously and doesn't have the writing to back it up. I'm surprised that the movie is only about 100 minutes long, and that even it's slim runtime (by comic book movie standards) didn't get it any bonus points.
  17. Next installments in a franchise are always compared and contrasted to the previous entries. A lot of people were/are going to be asking if this is better than FB2 so the reactions make sense, ideally every new installment in a franchise should be an improvement of the last so to me I take it as a decent sign.
  18. I watched this on HBO Max and that was exactly where this belonged. I think WB hoped that Keanu Reeves surge in popularity would entice more people to come watch this, but unfortunately The Matrix as a franchise had been inactive for over a decade so it's fanbase is much smaller than they believed, the general audience just didn't gravitate towards it.
  19. I'd rather the reviews/reactions be more mixed than negative, at least these seem more realistic as opposed to fans going "omg it was so great I loved all of it" which tends to happen with early screenings/premieres. The reactions are better than the ones I saw for Morbius the other day so there's that lol.
  20. So I actually went to each review and and translated them through google.....and for those saying this may be a "so bad it's good" don't get your hopes up. The movie apparently takes itself too seriously and doesn't have the type "eating a live lobster out of a tank at a restaurant" energy that Venom had nor does it do anything interesting with the character itself. The only thing that some of those critics kinda found amusing was Matt Smith. Other than that almost every review just found this film bizarre, disjointed, and plain ugly to look at.
