  1. )Frozen 2 Black Widow Knives Out WW84 Jumanji Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood Onward Mulan Charlie’s Angels 10) Terminator
  2. So yesterday we had Deadline and Jat at 33 while Rth was at 22, came in just about halfway between.
  3. We’re winning the $$$ so don’t really care about awards that much. If we’d crossed 2 billon marks in the 2010s instead of 11 I bet people would have been more invested in the BP BP nom.
  4. Same reception and hype movie with a 2 hour runtime, clear 400 easy. Problem is that you can’t really make it much shorter and keep the quality. It 2 170 minutes is a bit saggy, but Endgame 180 minutes was necessary.
  5. Bye bye theaters. But hey, at least it’ll have lasted longer than without the MCU
  6. I feel like it was for Endgame May 18. Dunno why I would possibly remember that. I’ll go check the weekend thread.
  7. Me too I was pretty sure the 26 was serious, but geeze, that is a big drop off in the late hours. It will need a good Saturday bump to lock 200.
  8. I was the guy saying that 30 seemed high and people shouldn’t be too surprised if it came in at 27-29 or so this morning, so it’s not like the number doesn’t make sense to me as an OD. It’s more that Jat, Asgard, and Deadline all seemed to be in agreement with 32+ in the afternoon, and 26 is a huge drop. If it really is that night’s took a huge plunge I think that makes plenty sense for s 3 hour movie that isn’t Avengers level appeal — but since Charlie did give a fake number that one time just to see how we’d react I’m going to be only 80% sure or so, for now.
  9. Hmmmmmm.... serious, or having some fun with us? I’ll come back in an hour and I guess it’ll be all sorted out.
  10. It1 didn’t, and there’s no indication It2 would. It would need a lot of recutting.
  11. Preview: True Friday and True Friday: True FSS for the 5 biggest R-rated horror of the last half dozen years — It 1 x2.73, x2.98 Halloween x3.3, x2.7 Us x2.91, x2.96 Nun x3.09, x2.90 Conjuring x4.12, x2.82 So, Conjuring’s preview:OD really just shows how much smaller previews were in 2013. Despite that, the true IM looks pretty normal. Those are all schoolweeks iirc, but It 1 and Nun are the exact same calendarwise and the most recent. So with a 33M True fri, It 2 True FSS should be from 33*2.7-33*2.9 or so, 89-96, for a 99.5-107 Weekend. Maybe can go even higher if the long runtime does shift business’s into the weekend (curse you small sample size).
  12. Theatrical revenue maybe 95 DOM, 42 C, 152 OS-C (using 55-40-21), 290 total. Guessing <100M profit base don past FF estimates, but could have been worse.
  13. money earned past 350M as a portion of money earned past 200M, 2010s: movies over 350M as a portion of movies over 200M, 2010s:
  14. Very strange internal multi If this holds. Maybe the 3 hour runtime depresses Thursday previews?
  15. Deadline copying Charlie’s notes 😛 https://deadline.com/2019/09/it-chapter-two-opening-weekend-box-office-birds-of-prey-teaser-1202713529/
  16. This isn’t what I’m saying at all. Maybe you didn’t read all of the comments?
  17. Seems like a reasonable enough objection, let’s see what we get focusing just on R movies. 90M nowadays is good for 5th: 1 Deadpool Fox $132,434,639 36.5% 3,558 $37,222 $363,070,709 2/12/16 2 Deadpool 2 Fox $125,507,153 39.4% 4,349 $28,859 $318,491,426 5/18/18 3 It WB (NL) $123,403,419 37.7% 4,103 $30,076 $327,481,748 9/8/17 4 The Matrix Reloaded WB $91,774,413 32.6% 3,603 $25,471 $281,576,461 5/15/03 5 American Sniper WB $89,269,066 25.5% 3,555 $25,111 $350,126,372 1/16/15 A decade ago 5th was... 1 The Matrix Reloaded WB $91,774,413 32.6% 3,603 $25,471 $281,576,461 5/15/03 2 The Passion of the Christ NM $83,848,082 22.6% 3,043 $27,554 $370,274,604 2/25/04 3 300 WB $70,885,301 33.7% 3,103 $22,844 $210,614,939 3/9/07 4 Hannibal MGM $58,003,121 35.1% 3,230 $17,957 $165,092,268 2/9/01 5 Sex and the City WB (NL) $57,038,404 37.4% 3,285 $17,363 $152,647,258 5/30/08 57-58M. It’s really not a substantially different picture here in terms of all OWs vs R opening weekends.
