I’m just amazed that Zaslav apparently had enough hubris to think there was a chance that Kevin Feige would actually say yes. The man is the President of Marvel Studios. Why in God’s name would he throw that away just to work for the guy responsible for Honey Boo Boo?

Safe to say that Jared Leto isn’t coming back as the Joker, but regardless, I don’t see what the logic would be in making Superman films starring Henry Cavill, as well as a separate series of Superman films about a black Superman.

Scoopers are claiming the J.J. Abrams/Ta-Nehisi Coates Superman movie is still in development. I’m not entirely sure why it would be.

Everything else about this movie has seemed so melancholy compared to the first one, so I guess it’s appropriate that the Rihanna song would follow suit.

If this manages to be the highest rated CBM of the year (not an especially high bar, but still) despite the troubled production and short post-production window, then I guess we should consider Ryan Coogler a miracle worker.

I feel like James Cameron has been taking shots at CBMs for years now, even before Scorsese did it.

Not really. This movie has reportedly had some of the best responses from test screenings of any DC movie since Christopher Nolan’s Batman films.

So, are they going to try and merge the Reeves universe with the DCEU or what? Come to think of it, The Rock did say that he’d like Black Adam to meet Barry Keoghan’s Joker. One thing’s for sure, there’s definitely zero chance of Jared Leto coming back with Gunn at the helm.

The report also states that movies like Joker 2 won’t fall under James Gunn’s supervision. I assume the same would also apply to the Batman universe that Matt Reeves is building.

Upon re-evaluating the first film, I think I actually appreciate it more now than I did back when it came out. The VFX are still dodgy and I’m still not too crazy about Shuri’s comedy, but I can appreciate the film for how well it stands on its own. Even if you’re not invested in the greater narrative of the MCU, you can still enjoy the film as its own thing.

I just realized that the review embargo lifts on Election Day in the United States.

The first TFA teaser was released in November 2014, followed by another teaser in April 2015.

I think the current lack of a full trailer wouldn’t feel so jarring if we didn’t get the teaser nearly six months ago.

The question is, who will be willing to direct a Superman film at this point? Directing a Superman movie seems almost as undesirable as directing a Star Wars movie.

I hate that pretending to be angry about Disney and “woke Hollywood” has become a lucrative business model.

If the film really is as good as the scoopers claim, then maybe, but Miller’s involvement has painted a dark cloud regardless.

Now that Black Adam is out of the way, I wonder when we can expect a trailer for this. I’d be interested to see how the Internet responds.
