  1. It would be sad if this movie has to be day and date. It’s supposed to be the start of a trilogy, so it would be unfortunate if its box office numbers got diluted. Also, no new trailer yet, I take it?
  2. Which was significantly less than what BvS made on OW. Also, that movie came out in the same year as WW, so there’s that.
  3. The fact that people had to pay $30 to watch JC at home, while TSS will be available at no extra charge, makes it iffy to do a proper comparison between the two.
  4. I don’t think being rated R hurt BoP as much as people are claiming. There just wasn’t much interest in it to begin with.
  5. When you have a property that has “suicide” in the title, you’re not likely to get a Happy Meal tie-in.
  6. I’m guessing not, but we don’t really know what this movie will make for its total domestic run. It’s possible that word of mouth could give this movie some solid legs, especially since August is usually a fairly leggy month for movies.
  7. It’s a testament to how absolutely brand damaging the first movie was that this might not even open to $30 million, despite the critical praise.
  8. At this point, I wouldn’t be opposed to an Ayer Cut, but the odds of it happening seem unlikely. The Snyder Cut happening was a miracle that was only possible because the higher ups at AT&T saw it as an opportunity to promote their streaming service. Now that AT&T and WB are going their separate ways, I can’t imagine Warner and Discovery would be willing to invest any amount of money into something like this, when they’d clearly rather just move forward and forget the past. Plus, unlike ZSJL, I don’t think an Ayer Cut would really have much going for it that would make it commercially appealing, outside of better editing.
  9. I said in the past couple of days. Not a lot of reviews have come in since the weekend ended.
  10. The volume of reviews posted on Rotten Tomatoes has been really slow these past couple of days.
  11. When Iger stepped down right around the time of the pandemic, I remember jokingly thinking that he was going to let Chapek be the fall guy for whatever problems Disney would have to deal with in the face of COVID. Maybe I wasn’t so far off?
  12. This probably won’t make as much as its predecessor regardless of when it’s released.
  13. The next Doctor Strange movie is coming out in Spring. I assume they’ll want Spidey released before that. I don’t see much point in a delay at this point. They’ve made it this far, so they might as well stick to their guns.
  14. In fairness, they fired the sexual predator in question when they found out about it. They just didn’t publicly disclose the reason he was fired because the victims told them not to.
  15. GvK also had a trailer that generated an insane amount of buzz. It has the most amount of YouTube likes for a non-Marvel trailer and it’s currently the most viewed trailer on WB’s YouTube channel. The trailers for TSS haven’t even come close.
