  1. Why not just get edit out the map altogether? I don’t just mean for Southeast Asia, I mean in general.
  2. It is overkill. Having competing Batman film series is uncharted territory that runs the risk of creating brand confusion, not to mention potentially dividing the fanbase further. Even the old regime at WB came to see that as a bad idea, which was why George Miller’s Justice League film was ultimately canceled. That’s not even getting into the fact that we also have the Joaquin Phoenix Joker movies.
  3. I think there’s one or two mentions of pizza in the original Mirage comics, but the 1987 cartoon is what really established the turtle’s obsession with pizza, to the point where it’s practically the only thing we see them eat. Personally, I find the fixation this franchise has with pizza to be rather annoying.
  4. A movie has to reach 75% to be certified fresh, then once it happens, the movie will stay that way as long as the score doesn’t drop below 70%.
  5. Got it. I just wasn’t sure because they supposedly don’t like Simu Liu, and I wasn’t sure how they’d react to Hari Nef.
  6. So, this movie’s going to be banned from several Southeast Asian countries, probably a large chunk of the Middle East and maybe China too? Did I get all that?
  7. Having just gotten back from this, I don’t know how anyone could consider this a “deconstructionist” story. There’s nothing about it that feels like it’s trying to deconstruct the character or the franchise. It does in fact play it fairly safe, apart from the unnecessarily long runtime.
  8. Mutt is the Jar Jar Binks of Indiana Jones. I suppose they could’ve hypothetically brought him back with a different actor to try and redeem the character, but why bother? Just to do a passing of the torch story?
  9. Am I the only one who isn’t terribly impressed by what we’ve seen so far? I know people are hungry for original sci-fi films, but this comes across as a very paint by numbers post-2010s sci-fi story. It seems like something Neil Blomkamp would make, and I don’t really mean that as a positive.
  10. So those early reviews from Cannes that called this boring and safe were right on the money?
  11. As long as the legs for this aren’t complete garbage, its run shouldn’t be as embarrassing as The Flash. The idea of it opening in the $40 million range seems a bit excessive though.
  12. I don’t see how there would be a Jesse Eisenberg vibe from Bill Skarsgard as Lex Luthor. I think it would be more like his character in John Wick 4.
