  1. Not exactly related to this movie, but I’m glad he said this. The entire Internet was fan casting him as Lex Luthor back in 2013, and it was so uninspired.
  2. He was the one who cast Kiersey Clemons as Iris, yes. In any case, that doesn’t exactly debunk the notion that the film would’ve tackled the topics I mentioned, and back when Famuyiwa dropped out, it was reported that his script had an edge to it that wasn’t inline with what WB wanted.
  3. Pretty sure it wasn’t just 4chan that talked about that, but regardless, I don’t see how it’s far fetched. That seems pretty onbrand for Famuyiwa, and it’s been stated that WB rejected his version for having too much of an “edge” to it.
  4. Set prepping? I thought they finished filming back in 2020.
  5. Corporate mergers have been a blight on the the world of entertainment for the past decade now. Comcast buying Universal opened up a Pandora’s Box.
  6. The belief is that he’s trying to juice up the company’s library by emphasizing all of their big IP’s, hence the DC, LotR and Harry Potter announcements. Maybe that’s not what he’s going for, but either way, he’s not really doing a great job at improving the image of the company. Yeah yeah, the company was in debt because of AT&T and all that, but as I’ve said numerous times in the past, nobody forced him to buy WB. This was clearly outside of his wheelhouse. The key to his success was trashy and cheap reality shows that could be pumped out like they’re in a factory.
  7. I sure hope Rick Famuyiwa’s script leaks some day. A Flash movie that actually has Flash villains in it, and touches on the subject of police brutality and the failure of the justice system could’ve been great.
  8. Looks like the Thursday night previews begin at 5 PM. Almost every big studio movie nowadays begins their Thursday previews at 3:00 or even 2:00, plus special advanced screenings, so that’s a breathe of fresh air.
  9. That’s quite a rebound. On one hand, premiering it at Cannes resulted in a month of bad press, but on the other hand, if they hadn’t done that, I assume it would’ve started with a high Rotten Tomatoes score, only for it to experience a steady decline leading into its release, similar to what happened with WW84, which would’ve led to a different kind of narrative.
  10. If true, they’re gonna play Bring Me to Life when he shows up, aren’t they?
  11. Apple buying WB would be preferable to it getting absorbed by Comcast. Of course, in an ideal world, the AT&T merger never would’ve happened, and WB would still be owned by Time Warner.
  12. Who’s obsessive about him? This is the WB thread, so it makes sense that people would be talking about the guy currently running the company here.
  13. I don’t think the cliffhanger ending here is such a big deal that we need to see how it ends as quickly as possible. I would say that about the ending of IW, but this movie’s ending isn’t quite as big of a doozy.
  14. I had a bad feeling in the back of my mind that the Spider-Verse movies might not have been very fun to make, especially when I heard that BTSV hasn’t made much progress, despite having been scheduled to come out in less a year, but I tried to tell myself that feeling was unfounded, and that Lord and Miller really are the wholesome fun guys they paint themselves as. Well, at least this makes the production of Solo make more sense.
  15. I guess it’s a good thing this was delayed after all. Hopefully the VFX artists won’t be overworked like the animators for Spider-Verse.
  16. I don’t care if this gets moved to 2025 anymore. Just don’t treat the animators like crap.
  17. Even if I wanted to (which I obviously don’t), I don’t think I could find any way to defend Zaslav’s choices. Yeah, the company’s in debt, but the man has been lining his own pockets like crazy for the past couple of years, while selling off parts of the company he bought, and showing no regard for creatives. He is not the kind of boss I’d ever want to work for if I were a creative, that’s for sure.
