Yeah that’s what I pretty much thought of the movie. It seems geared towards middle school kids. I think I would’ve loved it as a kid, but as an adult I thought it was not good at all. It just wasn’t for me.

I think its people that mainly want to see it in premium formats. If you don't get tickets early for Dolby, Imax, or 4dx, et al. you are shit out of luck for the opening weekend. Near me I checked 3 theaters and all of the showtimes barely have any seats left for premium showings. So, in essence its different from waiting for the iPhone since you know there will be more supply or you can just order it to be shipped to you. The seats/showtimes for movies like this on opening weekend in premium formats have a finite number and people are often picky about what seats they are going to be in when shelling out $25+ dollars for a seat in a premium format.

I'm sorry, I have never watched the superman movies pre-2000s. it just felt like a marvel movie to me. Thats not a slight on the movie.

I feel like black panther had more violence in the water fall fights. I don’t know what people are referring to as the scene that would make parents apprehensive to take their kids? dc did their best marvel impression with this one.

Its been trending for what 3 hours now on twitter? it rose up from trending between 5-8 to being number 1 in the US. Thats pretty good for an original movie. The WOM will only catch on. There is more positive buzz than negative for the movie.

People were really responsive to it in my theater. After it ended I heard two groups of people say it was "amazing." I know anecdotes... are anecdotal, but I wanted to rebut the claim that audiences aren't liking it.

One thing to consider is that at least near me the US screenings that are selling the fastest are the premium ones: Dolby, Imax, etc.
