  1. The wom is similar to spider-man: homecoming. We can see what SM 2 does - BP 2 will drop a similar percentage or gross about the same amount as SM 2 in China. Spider man needed China more than black panther did. Im not too worried. It seems to be doing well internationally in most markets and the week-to-week holds in these markets show that there must be people going for multiple viewings.
  2. My screening was sold out too. People applauded at the end and some people were crying throughout the film or at the end. I think it'll have good legs and get an A or an A+ cinemascore
  3. I just saw the movie, too. it is a really, really good movie and will have good wom. Everyone in the theater laughed at the jokes and they applauded at the end. A lot of people in the theater were also tearing up during the movie, too. Which actually affected me emotionally lol. It was a really good movie! very well done. I foresee an A-A+ cinemascore
  4. Its pretty impressive because people were even debating if it would even make half of that since chinese people are prejudice against black people, especially black people with dark skinned. It just makes the star wars marketing department look even more ridiculous for minimizing finn so much in that poster. This movie will make more than TLJ in China.
  5. Yeah and we had 2 sequels and a spider-man reboot last year that did not even make 900M WW. They all got close but couldn't pass that threshold. Not sure what ironjimbo is trying to imply. This will be the only MCU movie without ironman in it to make over 1B.
  6. I think one good thing about movie pass is that more people are willing to see movies like this that they might be ambivalent about seeing. Because if it ends up being good that creates good wom. I would not be seeing this without movie pass, but glad I will be able to because of it.
  7. I don't think thats necessarily true. The week-to-week holds in most international markets prove thats not the case. There has to be good repeat viewings for that to happen. Word would have got out that it doesn't have a good connection to infinity war/soul stone by the first week. So its not because of the possible connection to infinity war.
  8. I saw that(I was translating their comments on google translate)... and was kind of shocked that they use that that term. I thought it was just something in the states. Why would they think its political correctness? what the hell? so weird. I feel like they're being extra harsh because of the race factor, but didn't really want to say that.
  9. wow, I just looked at most of the CBMS and their all at least an 8.0. This would be the worst received comic book movie I think. Even thor the dark world has an 8.7. BVS has an 8. So yeah it probably would be bad for BP2. Most origin stories don't have a lot of action, but I guess they just really dislike this one.
  10. Usually for advance screenings you can take a person, but specifically since this is a kids oriented movie disney might of encouraged bringing a kid or a younger sibling/relative with you for the advance screenings. This has happened before.
  11. Great - thanks for the insight. I hope it rises. I want BP to do well there... and make more than iron man 3 when it finishes its theatrical run.(WW)
  12. Has there been a case of a movie starting out low like this on maoyan and rising throughout the weekend? Shouldn't the people that went to the previews be the ones that are massive MCU fans?
  13. The excuse I've seen is that it would be at <10% if it didn't involve minorities. Its so utterly ridiculous. They're mad its not LOW enough.
  14. lol @ people complaining that the reviews aren't negative enough. It'll never be enough. Its either their too afraid to give rotten reviews because of "SJW" reasons or not.
  15. Why do you think that is? how was the reception out there of the movie?
