I re-watched Magic Mike XXL with some friends last night and Channing Tatum gives possibly the greatest physical performance of any movie star from this generation.
It's cool that James Gunn is directing every episode of Season 2 (I thought he'd direct less episodes so that he could focus on another project), but kind of a bummer Jody Hill won't be returning to direct a couple episodes.
What the hell? A bunch of people were popping balloons in one of the libraries (the most popular one) in my uni and everyone in there thought a school shooting was happening. Absolutely insane. Glad I decided not to go to the library today.
Once you get the fanbase excited, the GA (specifically the 18-35 demo, who pay the most for movies) will come along too. It's why The Last of Us show will obliterate any of the recent video game adaptations in terms of viewership and discussion. The game has a huge active fanbase and the show will likely be amazing too. A LOT of people will be watching that.
I guess you're right, but I feel like Uncharted is more popular in the sense that there is a larger active fanbase right now. I think a Uncharted movie that looked good and had the fanbase excited would've easily beaten Sonic's opening numbers.
Couldn't find the thread for the movie, so posting here, but saw Dog today (had to as someone who thinks Magic Mike XXL is a masterpiece) and the lack of Soderbergh from the team was noticeable in terms of the energy and visual complexity, but this was pretty cute.
How has Obi Wan never had a theme? Like, he was one of the main characters of the prequel. Kinda sucks tho. Whatever Williams would've come up with then would've been infinitely better what's hes probably come up with now.
