The worry for me is does Cameron pull a jj abrams and do the same story as avatar 1 but bigger.. Or does he hopefully have some tricks up his sleeve

So long as the plot is moving forward at a consistent pace I'm fine with long movies. Imo the pacing of the 1st film was bad

While I wouldn't count out Cameron fully, there are factors that may make it too similar to BP2. With Babylon opening right around the same time frame as it ( awards season tends to congratulate films about anything related to itself [ see my week with Marilyn, once apon a time in Hollywood and the artist.].) Avatar 2 looks to be fighting a larger uphill battle than expected

I have two things to say on this. Cameron did not need to bite the hand that feeds him. Especially when Zoe Saldana has played a very important part in the MCU while he was still trying to figure out what to do for this film. Like im not sure you realize how big DB is (and I know the decision is made for a Japanese audunces) when Dragon Ball Super was airing the fight between Goku and Jiren there were massive block parties all over Latin American countries of people watching it. Heck, there was a strip club in Mexico that was offering free lapdances if Goku won. My point is if the audience is big and/or rabid enough they won't care. Ps. Heaven help us if Disney does have the live action film rights to DB.
