  1. He seems like a critics' darling. I have seen The Old Man and the Gun and think the writing is dull and detached from the weight of the story. And its sometimes playful direction is pretentious. Not a good artistic work.

  3. Some erratic drops from The Addams Family. The movie went from falling week-to-week 31% over the weekend to 54% yesterday.

  7. China is probably number 1 of all countries when it comes to pettiness. It tried to obliterate a country's name from the actual world, not just in an animated setting. https://www.latimes.com/world/asia/la-fg-taiwan-china-multinational-companies-20190118-story.html

  12. I like it this is more than a popcorn thriller. I am curious to see if the director was able to craft a politically conscious movie wrapped in a brainy mystery and say something that is so obvious and important but often escapes us and becomes our blind spot.

  14. Poor Angry Birds 2 with over 60% drop off from the first movie. At least Sony can enjoy a good cheer in Spider-Man: Far from Home.

  16. $133m is such a random number. For now, under $123m OW is more likely than not.
  17. It's not forced diversity. It's more inclusive of critics outside the circle of media trades and news publications. I think it's a good thing because of the decentralization.
  18. Allowing a more diverse set of critics from different backgrounds can bring new perspectives and insights. At the same time, RT should be more selective about what it considers a critical review. I say this because many of the reviews from mostly local news and non-movies-related publications are often two-paragraph blurbs that offer nothing other than paraphrasing the synopsis and ending with a simple one-sentence comment.
