  1. Spirited Away Japan (Re-release) Week 0: $0.25mn Week 1: $1.80mn Week 2: $1.74mn Week 3: $1.49mn Week 4: $1.13mn Week 5: $0.62mn Total: $7.05mn Saturday is down 35% from last week. $8.5mn full run.
  2. Evening is so much better than usual. Dolittle will do ¥10mn and SWAS ¥6.7mn. Sonic ¥3.2mn. Cume ¥5.4mn. Weekend will be ¥7.5mn ($1.05mn) JOJO ¥2.1mn. Cume ¥3.2mn Weekend will be ¥5.25mn ($750k)
  3. China Boxoffice Sat. 1st August 2020 1. Dolittle: ¥9.1mn / ¥74.8mn ($10.6mn) 2. The Enigma Of Arrival: ¥6.5mn / ¥15.8mn 3. Sheep Without A Shepherd: ¥6.2mn / ¥1256mn Overall ¥36mn Saturday. Dolittle shall go for ¥23mn 2nd weekend.
  4. Week 17 25-31st July Movies Dil Bechara: This might have passed as decent thing if I hadn't seen The Fault in Our Stars. 3/10. Following: Brilliant. Among my top Nolan films easy. 8/10. Insomnia: I guess the most non-Nolan, Nolan film but great stuff. Also Robin Williams is great in it. 8/10. Indiana Jones and Temple of Doom: 💩. 0/10. Barry Lyndon: Resuming Kubrick filmography. This gave me GWTW vibes. 8/10. Spartacus: 8/10. Shakuntla Devi (Hindi): The film was very pretty good in first two acts, but third act felt like not fully developed. A lenient 6/10. Lolita: Kubrick's weakest for me. There are two others, won't be watching them. 5/10. Lootcase (Hindi): I was expecting this to be Andhadhun level good but this was neither than smart nor funny. Decent watch though. 5/10.
  5. yeah, but only layman and box office normies can afford that. the folks here will care for the actual facts instead of what box office mojo says imo.
  6. Yes but its Indian counterpart that are running things. Disney closed film production in 2016. Dangal was their 2nd last. They were the biggest studio at that time. Warner Bros closed in 2009 itself.
  7. I would put under Interstellar but considering Interstellar will make $4mn Approx on its opening day, not sure how it will trend, it is likely Avatar take the no.1 spot but I will expect Endgame to take back when it re-release, which I hope is sooner.
  8. Seems like Dolittle will be very close to TEoA. May be Dolittle can win too. Sunday Interstellar shall win, weekend may be Dolittle. I won't be entirely surprised if Interstellar win weekend just by Sunday. Current PS are ¥5mn. Final perhaps ¥10mn. OD can be ¥20-30mn.
  9. 3rd Friday was good at 82k. If it was normal and not aided by something, we might have 575k 3rd Week which put it in good position for 4mn.
  10. Yeah but Eros is beaten down. They were big in 2015 then immediately down in 2016 and now dead. India had US corporates in late 2000s, but they all ran except the ones with Indian holding like Fox Star or Viacom 18.
  11. China Boxoffice Fri. 31st July, 2020 1. The Enigma Of Arrival: ¥9.7mn 2. Dolittle: ¥4.9mn 3. Sheep Without A Shepherd: ¥3.4mn Sonic: ¥2.3mn Overall ¥28mn Friday. Dolittle shall go for ¥23-24mn 2nd weekend.
  12. Chak De India: My first film ever in theater, made me SRK fan. The best sports film ever from India, Lagaan and Dangal have nothing on CDI. Wish it was a bit higher, but I am happy it made it even. 2 SRK films in a day is great. Also, @chasmmi mentioned about box office toppers. This was a big success in 2007, grossing $23mn in India. If released today, sort of growth and taste of people, would easily do $90mn.
  13. It's doing well considering the per show business is quite okay with seating restriction and considering the delay of 6 months. It also remained almost flat in weekdays, showing a good trend. Dolittle did 61mn in 215k shows during first week, roughly 280 per show. Captain Marvel had 685 average or a The Lion King 660.
  14. Yeah but the 2nd film did only $1.65mn in China. First one didn't even release it seems. Yeah but that doesn't change the fact that if a bomb like Dolittle is doing well in China, with not so great audience reception score, its RDJ star power at display.
  15. 200mn extravagant is also a boxoffice disaster which made $70mn dom. Bloodshot is an action film starring Vin Diesel, whose another action film XXX3 did $170mn in China doing just $45mn dom.
  16. Robert Downy starpower at display. Bloodshot was also released. It flopped badly despite better Maoyan score. Sonic the Hedgehog has poor pre-sales.
  17. Dolittle PS for Friday are ¥600k, expecting ¥5mn 2nd Friday & ¥25mn (-30%) 2nd weekend. Total by Sunday shall be ¥85mn Approx. Sonic The Hedgehog ¥450k PS. Expecting ¥1.5mn OD and ¥7.5-8mn weekend.
  18. everytime you will post anything @lorddemaxus I would get excited to see views on the SRK film you watched, guess I am bound to be disappointed many times.
  19. Japan Box Office Top 10 Gross in last few weekends. May 30-31: $0.92mn June 06-07: $1.43mn June 13-14: $1.43mn June 20-21: $2.38mn June 27-28: $5.26mn Jul 04-05: $4.4mn Jul 11-12: $4.24mn Jul 18-19: $8.4mn Jul 25-26: $10.1mn First $10mn weekend since Feb 22-23.
