$25-$35 million opening weekend predictions, and possible domestic total of $115 million, according to BoxOffice Pro.
Not bad, could be a little better.
17% on Rotten Tomatoes so far (6 reviews, 1 'fresh' but still mixed). It'll probably rise as more come in (or go down).
That said, I think Will Smith might be getting another Razzie nomination.
Okay, so this film looks to start shooting shooting next year. That's nice to know.
So, release date-probably 2021 or sometime late next year (Scott could make it in time for the end of 2020, but a 2021 release date could give him more time to work on it).
Hopefully he reunites with John Mathieson-he's a better cinematographer than Wolski.
I'm going to be honest-depending on how much Joker drops, I think that this could open at the No. 1 spot (emphasis on could). If that doesn't happen (and the box office is an unpredictable thing, so it could go either way depending on audience reactions), it'll probably open at the No. 2 spot.
That's tough. Especially since we all have different ideas.
My list, though, for now would probably include these gentlemen:
Wes Anderson
Coen Brothers
David Fincher
Christopher Nolan
Martin Scorsese
Steven Spielberg
Quentin Tarantino
Denis Villeneuve
Between this, Ford v. Ferrari, The Good Liar, Doctor Sleep and The Irishman, I am going to be spending a lot of money on cinema tickets this November, aren't I?
I can't wait for this one, alright. The reviews are encouraging.
I liked El Royale, but it was a little slow and long. Hopefully the pacing on this one is better.
While I think Malek will do a good job, you shouldn't feel too discouraged. Bonham Carter could end up being the villain for Bond 26. I know I want her to be a Bond villain.
(Her, Cate Blanchett, Bryan Cranston, Viola Davis, Irrfhan Khan and/or David Tennant)
It's been a while since I saw Skyfall, but I don't remember anything about M giving Silva a code-name. I always assumed he created his alias himself.
I'm pretty sure Barbara Broccoli vetoed making the codename theory canon years ago, and I strongly doubt she's going to intentionally do anything implying it is true.
So I'd treat whatever actor replaces Craig as playing the exact same guy as Craig did.
It's been pointed out that Scott's delaying his Merlin Saga film because of this one. Merlin was meant to start production this autumn. The script for this film is reportedly almost finished.
Is it possible that this could actually start shooting this year? As far as I know, Damon and Affleck don't have anything in their schedules for this year, so it could start shooting in September/October if they get everything ready in time.
This is, what, the eighth, ninth, film announced to be directed by Ridley Scott in the past 3 years?
The Prisoner
Wraiths of the Broken Land
All The Money In The World
The Merlin Saga
Queen & Country
It's What I Do
Gladiator 2
Alien: Covenant sequel
The Last Duel
Of all of these, only 1 of them has actually happened. I swear to God, he's got ADHD or something.
She's a totally new character who happens to have been promoted to 00-status after Bond retired and got his old number.
That's pretty much it.
Barbara Broccoli's been pretty adamant about keeping Bond a man for some time now, and I think Rachel Weisz and a couple of the former Bond girls have said that they think Bond should stay male too.
Nolan v. Cameron will probably be 2023 at the earliest, considering Nolan's recent work-rate and the scheduling of the Avatar sequels.
2020, however, is shaping up to be one hell of a directors' bar brawl-Nolan vs. Spielberg vs. Fincher vs. Wes Anderson vs. Villeneuve vs. Fukunaga vs. Zemeckis.
