  1. Top Gun Maverick back in theaters again on Sep 8 Star Trek '09 back on the same date The Matrix and Lego Movie return on Sep 15, Get Out and The Dark Knight are back on Sep 22. Might be an AMC exclusive series?
  2. They will be on Wednesday. Nope, The Creator is getting IMAX that weekend.
  3. Last post, I promise: Angel Studios' next nationwide theatrical release, The Shift, opens December 1. Don't think it's been officially announced anywhere, but AMC has the date listed on their site. And I'm sure there won't be any controversy around this one... surely... maybe...
  4. D&D is back in at least 16 markets in the US this weekend, and TF will be playing in 36. It's not a whole lot, but some did bring them back.
  5. From what I've heard: The Nun 2 on sale Aug 30 Paw Patrol 2 on sale Sep 7 Expendables 4 on sale Sep 13 Saw X on sale Sep 20 My source says some of these are tentative, this is what he says is set for now.
  6. Haunting in Venice on sale this Monday, Aug 28. There will be an early access showing on Sep 13.
  7. The Good Mother tickets on sale tomorrow. Should be getting at least a few hundred locations, I think?
  8. I don't think it's going very far. Think the limited release this weekend is only a handful or so locations, the week after seems to be just major metros for now (thinking a few hundred at most, maybe around the amount Landscape is at this weekend). Beyond that is likely dependent on the performance of weeks 1+2.
  9. 91% is on the low end of an A- CS, not too unbelievable that it dipped to B+, especially since (as already mentioned) the score is still dropping.
  10. Additional re-expansions/re-releases coming for the weekend of National Cinema Day (Aug 25-27): -Asteroid City, Dungeons & Dragons, Super Mario Bros., and Transformers: RotB will all be returning/re-expanding (will vary by location) -The Little Mermaid '23 returns with a Sing-Along version
  11. For those who haven't noticed, the Coraline Fathom event tonight is doing terrific. Lots of sold out screenings and theaters scrambling to add more showtimes. In LA, CityWalk is doing midnight shows! Fathom even announced an additional date because of how well it's doing so far. Except a (relatively) good number for it.
  12. Shazam was very well-liked, I just don't think there was much interest in a sequel. The first movie kinda did everything there was to be done with the concept of the character, the second didn't really have a fresh or marketable hook to it.
  13. Hearing Cinema Day will be publicly announced on the 21st. And yes, 27th is the official day.
  14. As an additional note, based on what I was told from those who attended, the cheap tickets brought out a lot of "DGAF" disruptive audience members, likely because they didn't actually care about the movie due to how little they paid for it. I recall one theater manager saying it felt like an entire day of babysitting rowdy children, and I think some even closed early because they didn't want to continue to deal with all the mayhem.
  15. That would be The Souvenir, which was followed by The Souvenir Part II. There's also X, which has already received a prequel and has a sequel on the way. So this is actually their third movie to get a sequel, unless I'm missing another one.
  16. Yes. $4 instead of $3 this year. Jurassic Park 30th Anniv 3D tix go on sale on Thursday. Back on the Strip on sale tomorrow.
  17. It looks like at least the UK will get it the following week on Sep 1, so it might play in other overseas markets. That being said, the Jaws 3D re-release didn't make its way to Germany, did it? Seems like that release might be the blueprint for this one too.
  18. I'm about 90% 100% sure this is happening, more and more evidence is mounting. Will notify when I hear of a ticketing date. Pal of mine thinks Uni is holding off on an official announcement until National Cinema Day details are made widely-known. Does @Brainbug know about this?
