The Pokémon Company literally had staff on set everyday to expect everything about the movie. They had all their hands in it including the plot. They literally didn’t even want the mime scene in it but letterman insisted. A different director or writers wouldn’t make any difference. And that’s a good thing because so many franchises and adaptation don’t have this kinda treatment. (Transformers, and most recently sonic) It’s not like they gave the ip to the directors and writers to make whatever they want with it. The movie is just as CANON as any mainline games. It exists in the same universe.

And I oop Samit: “A lot of the classic elements of a Pokémon story were not really at our disposal. At Ryme City, there are no battles, there are no trainers, there are no Pokeballs. We often thought of it as like writing a Star Wars movie without a lightsaber or the Force or anything like that. The key elements are just not part of this world.”

Well I have some bad news. And you’ve been majorly spoiled. Why are you here lol. There’s a twist involved with the race thing that would be shocking or not depending on your views.

Pokémon Go players aren’t exactly Pokémon fans. If those people were going, we would be seeing record breaking numbers by now. Pokémon Go has 85 million active players.

Still sticking with 100 million + 💃

It looks bad. The first movie works because of the kids with their youth and naïveté.

I don’t expect big Thursday night previews simply because it’s a family film and most pokemon fans aren’t hardcore movie fans that go to advance screenings.

Bohemian Rhapsody got several oscars and grossed almost 1 billion dollars. Critics who? 💃 Captain Marvel? Aquaman? 💃 Longshot flopped, Shazam flopped.

As if critical reception has any impact on Pokémon 🤣 The games which sold millions(grossed BILLIONS) and are top sellers every year aren’t GOTY or awards contenders compared to say Sony exclusives which critics like to overhype but sell about 1/3 of Pokémon games. This movie wouldnt be any different.
