I think the conversation around billion dollar pictures will be much more dire this time next year when we get less than 5 billion dollar pictures for 2020.
That and Shazam both opening near Endgame was an idiotic move. Pikachu could've worked in August against Hobbs and Shaw.
I think this will do very well. The improved graphics between trailers earned a lot of good will, even I want to see it now.
1. Wonder Woman 1984
2. Birds of Prey
3. Black Widow
4. Tenet
5. Mulan
6. No Time to Die
7. Promising Young Woman
8. Eternals
9. Soul
10. Fast and Furious 9
... well, go Little Women!
Knives Out and Frozen thriving are also nice to see. Uncut Gems will probably fall off soon but around $40m for this type of movie is very good.
Interesting that Christmas Eve looks so strong without Tuesday discounts.
Frozen's theater count at 3265. Very healthy. For comparison Moana was in around 2700 theaters and RBTI in around 2400 Christmas week.
28m+ would be 6th biggest Monday.
Exactly 3x multiplier would get it right above Rogue One. That's the # I'm seeing now but it'd be nice to see some huge Christmas #s.
